My post for the #tcsp tag
It was A miserable cold Thursday but, it was my only day off work of the week so with that I thought it would be nice to go into town and do some light shopping and get those steps in. It was getting quite late in the afternoon the sun went down, temperatures plummeted and I needed something to warm me up.
Coffee sprung to my mind and I went walking through the mall searching for A coffee shop but they were all busy. After a few minutes of walking around the mall Caffè Nero came to mind, it is A coffee I have only tried once but I have never stepped foot into the cafe before and with it being relatively quiet and a few seats free I wondered in...
I took off my jacket and went up to order a coffee, I went with my favourite choice A Latte I was tempted by an Americano and I did need to try different coffee options but as I was unsure of them all I just went with A latte.
I like the simplicity of the cups at Caffè Nero and the aromas in the cafe are lovely everything about this coffee shop was terrific. The chalkboard with everything written in chalk really does add to the experience, everything is very simplistic yet attractive. For a chain shop, they do set out to be very different from the rest. There aren't any TV screens or big signage everything is small and casual, the tables and chairs are made of oak and the sofas are big and comfy.
The coffee tasted great and the atmosphere was very relaxing with the cafe being mostly busy with uni students doing their studies and a few people walking in and out with their takeaway coffee.
I enjoyed everything this coffee shop had to other, it was a shame it was quite busy because I would have liked to capture more photos but there is always next time.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post, I believe this is also my first time participating in the #tcsp tag I know next time I need more photos hehe.
I'm glad that you turned to coffee to take away your misery!
Caffe Nero was my go-to place when I lived here full-time. I haven't been in a while though.
Yeah, I like chalk-written menu boards for it's personal touch... Maybe that's one of the reasons why it's always full.
Thanks for sharing this with us, man!
Thanks for the kind words. in my city, there are only 3 Caffe Nero shops whilst Starbucks has about 7 in the centre and another 2-3 drive-through style shops on the edge of town. The same goes for Costa who also have their own portable coffee machines in 9 out of 10 petrol stations.
As for independent coffee shops there aren't too many (maybe 4 off the top of my head) but I would like to visit them regardless.
