The Story Behind Why Is It Called Kalm Kafe?
“Kalm” is from a combination of the owner and his partner's names. But I think the name is also very appropriate and matches the vibe of the cafe. From the moment you step in, you can immediately feel its cozy and calm atmosphere. Perfect for relaxing, chatting with friends, going on a date with your loved one, or unwinding alone.

First Experience at Kalm Kafe
When I first visited Kalm Kafe, we had just finished our exam. I was stressed then, so it's a good thing that my God-sent classmate recommended it to me. She said, "We should try Kalm Kafe, we deserve it after a long tiring day at school." Besides coffee, they also offer a variety of food that fits the budget of students like me. Because of this, it has become one of my favorite spots to visit in Danao City.
What I liked the most the first time I went there was the owner's dog that roamed freely inside the Kafe. It's like he's welcoming customers and showing how cute he is! I was not afraid of him because he was not very energetic. He is a kind and calm dog who just quietly walks around. Until later, he go near our table and fell asleep. So I can say, there is nothing to be afraid of him—he is very welcoming and behaves inside.
As a dog lover, I was very happy that there is this kind of cafe here in Danao City where they let the dog roam inside. So if you're a dog lover like me, you'll definitely love the vibe at Kalm Kafe. It's perfect for people who want to relax while with a cute four-legged friend.
After we got the food we ordered, we immediately started eating. When I first tasted it, I could tell that their food was very delicious. I never thought there was such great food and drink at such an affordable price, very student-friendly. While eating, my classmates and I talked about our experiences at school, as well as some personal life stories.
As we talked, I noticed what was hanging on the wall—Bible verses and motivational quotes. One of the ones that really stood out to me was:
"'For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. '” — Jeremiah 29:11
This is one of my favorite Bible verses that I always hold on to every day. Despite life's obstacles, this is what gives me the strength to continue and persevere in life. This is a reminder that even though there are many difficulties, the Lord always has a plan for us. Plans for us to succeed and not get hurt. Thus, I do everything I can because I know He will not leave me.
It's fun to think that at Kalm Kafe, not only will your stomach be full of delicious food and drink, but your heart and mind will also be full of inspiration. When you're stressed at school or work, it's perfect here! Besides the delicious food, low prices, and good ambiance, it will also leave you a positive outlook on life.
