My visit to the Sigmund Thun Gorge

A very beautiful place in Austria is the Sigmund Thung Gorge near Kaprun in the Province of Salzburg - Austria. Usually when I am on my summer holiday in Mittersil I also visit some nice mountain spots in the region. The Sigmund Thun Gorge is one of them. I visited it together with Stefan on a rainy day and I was happy about it because there where not so many people disturbing than on a warm summer day. And eventhough you get wet on a rainy day, you will get wet in the Gorge anyway!

I really love how beautiful the basis are that the water formed in thousands of years. A lot of different colors and the formation that were build from the water are simply beautiful.

If you are in the region I can really recomend you to visit the Gorge, it is not so difficult to climb the steps, since most of them are not very steep. But I have to admit because of the many beautiful spots Stefan and I did a lot of stops where we took our camera to take some pictures of the beauty. This could probably eliminate the struggle a bit because of the many stops. We had the luck that it was a cloudy day and not bright sunlight so we had these really great colors down there in the Gorge.

This is a spot that I should defenitely visit again when I am nearby, since it is really really beautiful. You have to pay some Euros to get access to the gorge. This money is used to maintain the steps and the pathways there.
