The concept here is, blog n' chill
When I was starting as a young writer, in traditional blogging I knew a lot of people that invested money in buying quality pictures for their websites and blogs.
The reasons for this weren't just purely for aesthetical purposes but also to create a view of originality in their blogs too.
A lot of bloggers back then were reliant on Google ads, and because you could get the ads, you had to maintain quality SEO to rank, your niche had to be exciting, and the content had to be original, down to the pictures. A quality picture is money, especially in blogging. Generally, I think it speaks volumes of an author's effort.
This one is called the alchemy of expression
Getty, Ain't Getting Away
When I left traditional blogging and came to the blockchain, I thought using copyrighted or even free-to-use images, takes away the credibility of content, but since it was allowed, I started using downloaded images. But, when I started writing sports.
I had issues with sports images on Google not being free and because of this, I stopped writing football, even if this was a niche that earned me some money back in the days of traditional blogging.
But then, I resolved to start taking my pictures, once @felixx suggested I do. In reality, it's what I've always wanted to do but then, I guess I needed that external validation to do so.
This is themed lifestyle, especially when I'm blogging lifestyle & finance
Go top, Splash Some Dolls
I spent about $820 to buy my iPhone 12, this was simply because I wanted to take my pictures, and call me crazy, but I love the concept of photography, and had a little idea, of doing a lower diploma in journalism. I knew people who earned top dollars for pictures alone.
It's been over 18 months now and I've never used a downloaded image ever again. What I regularly do was inculcate my pictures using Canva and then take advantage of its vector graphics, because I needed to create my original thumbnails, and blog images using a 16:9 aspect ratio.
I also invested some cash with the hope of buying one-time access to my video editing apps, it's why I find it cringe when authors completely hit google to get all their images, it's always difficult for me to curate them because images form part of the creativity of a writer.
This one can be diversely themed, sometimes I tailor my contents around my images
Creating A Commercial Hub For Photography
How about this?
There was a time I paid one author here for a decent picture of his, I felt the picture depicted the kind of content I wrote and he was glad to do business.
I think this is something that's lacking on Hive, we could create a photography based community, more like a market hub where people can get to sell their photographs and also where others can come to buy as well.
The reason is that a lot of authors have never deemed using their original photos as a necessity, I think creating such a hub might foster the need.
We have people here whose traditional niches are photography, we can create a different monetization process, a simple process of buying and selling
I think a lot of people might invest their time and effort if this happens. I find it hard to accept that an author would use 100% download images, and not even 50% original, then 50% download.
I think this is an aspect of content creating that matters.
Nigeria is a bit anti-photography due to the insecurity, but I'm sure if there were outlets to monetize these pictures, people would be educated better. This has been my blogging with my original pictures experience, I hope it motivates you.
Interested in some more of my works?
Man you’re good at photography, but I haven’t seen you make an entrance in the photography community yet. You should really consider it.
This writing has inspired me to try to make images of my own for my posts and not go all in with pictures from even free-to-use sites. Thanks for this.
I like the idea of the photography market idea too. It could be like an NFT hub for Hive, except, you don’t actually have to go through the hassle of converting the pictures into NFTs- just make a post of your picture collection like people do on pexels and the likes and people interested in your works can make a bid or something in the comments. I think we should move on it and really create this community. What do you say?
I did a lot of photography in the past, but I usually post them to liketu.com. this is more like the Instagram of Hive, I think this is why I don't directly post to a photography community.
As for creating that community, I think we need it, however I'm not sure how many people will be willing to sell their pictures and if there will be people willing to buy them.
But then I think it'll create a different aspect of commerce.
My photography has improved, I'm still at the amateur level though, hoping to do better.
Come on you’re selling yourself short here. Your photos are great. I’ve seen them. I’ve always wondered what phone you use for your vlogs and now I understand why they have so much detail. You invested!
Regarding making more photography posts, I think the only I’ve seen since I’ve joined is the one you took your haircut. I think that was also my first interaction with you(I remember haha). For real though your pictures are great and you need to show us more of them. I know I’ll be looking forward to them. In the mean time, I’ll check out your liketu posts. I’m sure you have a great album there.
I think the number of people willing to sell their pictures wouldn’t be a problem. A lot of even amateur photographers here would’ve even been incentivized to improve their photographs and we would’ve seen more original photos in the entire Hive community after the launch of this community. The problem would’ve been buyers. Like you said, people will not want to buy if they can just save it to their gallery. But even with that, there are still some decent people here who would pay for a good photo or even art(great! We could even add art to it. Would give it more of professional feel) for ownership or even simply to show appreciation and encouragement. Something like a tipping or appreciation community for photographers and artists. I see a lot of people agree with this idea and I think if we pitched it, it is something the Hive community would want to have.
A hub for photography doesn't sound that bad but I never really worried that much about images that much. I know it helps the blogging aspect but I have never really been one too much into photography.

I think photography is an important aspect of content creating. I think there are people who derive inspiration from their original images. Overall it's just forestall originality
A hub for selling photography on Hive is quite a good idea, sure it will thrive as photography has a large fan base.
This is what I think too, I feel that Hive can even do one better. I believe it'll get to a time when earning hive quite well wouldn't be just dependent on traditional blogging alone
We are slowing moving away from blogging being the major means of earning on Hive, it might still be hold lager percentage for earning in the future but with other DApps coming up like gaming, photography, things are going to change in various way.
Maybe we might also be able to mint our photographs for NFT.

This is true, I mean look at games like SIM, splinterlands. I think photography can become a thing, dating apps, minting NFTs, making money from going live on video, streaming services and all that.

Yes, I gree with your point of view! Sometimes, we need to be original content creator from texts, images and other forms of materials we use to create. That makes us a good blogger and being creative. Fixing and making what isn't there to be there. When that happens, yours definitely becomes unique...hahahaa 😂
You're definitely right, thanks for coming through.
I really see you're a lover of photography
I also noticed that too that you don't use free images..wow

I have a mid-range Samsung, that's for my blogging, but majorly my iPhone is for my videos and photography, but the truth is 50% of the images above are taken with my Samsung.
As per the tea hahaha come and have a taste ooooo.
Yeah I don't use free images are all, I believe in creating originality.
Wow that's nice
People still refer iphone to Samsung

Hi! it's the first time I read a post with that approach. I think most of the bloggers here choose to get free resources and add them to their posts, I'm not saying it's wrong, however I agree with what you say about the originality and value that original pictures give to a post. Personally and since I started in hive, I think I only use stock photos in one occasion, otherwise, all my posts are made of 100% original content, which implies: more work, more time and of course more originality as a result. I think it is important and interesting your proposal to monetize the photos here, I think there are people who would buy it, but I think that many would not.
Happy afternoon, by the way, nice pictures!

Wow
Creating a photography market in hive sounds great 👌. This will motivate some authors who are in good in photograph to do more in exchange of money .
Quality photograph attracts attention in ones blog, I love original photos just not a professional like you in creating a decent one🥰👍
This is absolutely true. I believe that incentivizing people to take their own pictures would definitely go a long way. We're seeing a lot of downloaded images, maybe having a marketplace might change that as well.
I am one of them🤦🤩
Though I use my original images sometimes !
Hahaha... well it's not to actually create original images. It takes it's toll. But if you put your mind to it.
How my crush now, she don come House?
Hahahaha
She is fine oo.....doing her crotchet work at the moment 😊👌
Why must she stress? What am I alive for? 😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did you say stress? Hahaha ....anyways she loves doing it ...
Now that you are alive for Dimma, oya wire some huge HBD for her so she won't stress herself again 🤩🤩🤩
This our incoming inlaw go make sense oo 🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃
I have thousands of photos that I took while learning about photography. There are also many photos that I took at public events over the years. I think many of these photos have a story behind them. I have been thinking about sorting through them and picking photos that have a story, and using HIVE to tell the story.
I think this could also be used for fiction. I could go out and take some photos, then come up with a fictional story that fits the images.

Creating such a community will be amazing. It will inspire more photographers on the chain to take more quality pictures knowing that people here value their work and are willing to buy them; including run away photographers like myself 😊
Creators too will be challenged to believe in themselves, head our and take good snapshots for their blogs. Thanks for sharing boss.
Great thoughts you shared here. A commercial photography niche could be great on Hive perhaps a way we can get a lot of Nigerians down here in this era of growing adoption for Mobile Photography.
I'm also getting myself schooled in this art too. There's a level of confidence I have each time my post carries a 100% original image. It has a way of making the words flow better.
