When I was a kid

Remember how as kids we hated a couple of things? Well I was actually archenemies with two things, eating beans and taking a nap during the day. The beans hatred part was just so natural because up till this day, I still have no idea why I hated to eat beans (seeing how I honestly can’t do without it now).

I remember how my dad would literally force me to eat it almost every morning before I go to school. He would seat on his favorite chair with his cane in one hand while the little me in my school uniform would literally be sweating like someone just poured water on me while eating but look at me now, I love beans.

Sleeping during the day or having a siesta like most of you would call it wasn’t also my thing back then. I remember how I would always wake up with a splitting headache whenever I woke up from my afternoon nap as if I just had a hangover ( it still happens even till this day).

So I had literally hated sleeping during the day. Besides, that was the time most of my friends were outside playing, so I should be doing the same but my dad had thought otherwise. Whenever he saw me run past the front window, obviously having the time of my life, he would call my name and ask me to come inside, then the next thing I will hear is “Go and sleep” the thought of it still breaks my heart.

And they were times were I thought “this man probably doesn’t like seeing me happy” lol. But then the older I grew the more I understood the importance of this things to my health, the more I knew why my dad did all of what he did. The time is currently 5:54pm as a write this, and I just woke up from a nap.
