In 1866, on the central parade-parade Mikhailovskaya square of the city (now Tsentralnaya), merchants built trading rows at their own expense. The construction was carried out under the guidance of the merchant headman Pupyshev.
Taking the front side of the whole block of the main street of the city - Orenburgskaya (now Oktyabrskaya street) and deploying the wings of arcades along the neighboring Vasilievsky and Nikolaevsky lanes (now Klimova and Razin streets).
Gostiny Dvor, as it were, enclosed the southern side of the square, successfully fitting into the ensemble of buildings surrounding it. But in addition to this, there were more than 600 different barter shops in the city for trade at the summer fair.
But on the other hand, each of the isolated from each other section of the Trading Rows, located behind massive shutters of forged doors (on photos 7 and 8), sections with reliable basement warehouses, was a cherished dream of Troitsk's trade guests.
From early morning until late at night, the massive shutters of 80 wrought-iron doors were wide open. The buyer was not just waited for, but invited, the visitor was helped to choose the product to their liking, they tried not to let it out empty-handed.
Until 90 years of the last century, the fate of the Trade Rows - this monument of history and architecture of federal significance - was in question. The premises were in a semi-emergency condition. The communists had a desire, in general, to take it apart.
But in these 90 years, great political and economic changes took place in the country and the Trade Rows survived. Entrepreneurs came here to the Trade Rows - they restored all the buildings and renovated the premises. Trade revived again, as before.
Today the building of the Trading Rows has been restored, the square has been landscaped, decorated with flower beds and fountains. Some of the premises have been converted for the educational purposes of the university, and in the rest they sell goods.
Time goes on and everything around changes, something for the better. During the work of the Trade Rows, for its intended purpose, many now quite well-known entrepreneurs in Troitsk, business people have gone through a kind of business school here.
Today, young people and aspiring entrepreneurs in the shopping arcade are attracted by the quite affordable rental of retail space and a convenient location in the very center of the city. There is still a lot of work ahead to restore the former trade like a trade fair.
In this old historical photograph, we see the central (Mikhailovskaya) Square, the Orthodox Cathedral and the Trading Rows themselves around the Mikhailovsky Cathedral. And a little history to understand how everything was then in the historical past of the city. The Trinity Fair was the third in Russia in terms of turnover after Nizhny Novgorod and Irbit. Merchants from the central part of Russia came to Troitsk. In addition, thousands of camels with various goods from Central Asia, India, Bukhara and China arrived here every summer. So in those days even the most outlandish goods could be bought here. Such is the history and modernity of the city.
Тhe shopping arcade in the city of Troitsk or the Asian Gostinny Dvor (from the Turkic - caravanserai) is a structure intended for trading, located in the historical part of the city. It was a very prestigious place, where not all traders could get to trade in goods. Today it is a federal cultural heritage site. The shopping arcade was put together by local merchants in 1866 on the Central Square (at that time - Mikhailovskaya), where in the photo we see the Mikhailovsky Cathedral. The construction was carried out under the guidance of the merchant headman Pupyshev. This was the central square of the city with the Mikhailovsky Cathedral and the Trading Rows in the 19th century. After the coup of 1917, the Torogy rows fell into disrepair, and the buildings housed warehouses. The cathedral was blown up by the communists in their struggle against religion. To a large extent, everything was abandoned, there were mountains of garbage all around. But in the early 1990s, the shopping arcade was revived again and entrepreneurs of the city began to trade in them. .This was my walk around the city today, in which I live, where history is intertwined with modernity at every step.
