So after walking about 10K+ steps at work on Saturday, I was lucky enough to be able to go to this fantastic Ariba Mexican Festival at Flagstaff Gardens in the Melbourne CBD on Saturday as I was on my way home from work.
So please join me and I take you on a tour around the park to check out the sights and don't forget to watch the video to see all of the fun and the silliness.
Hi all, here's a snippet of a hilarious and brilliant dance party at the Ariba Mexican Festival in Melbourne a few nights ago where I finally got to do something that I've been waiting to do for a very long time for- and that is to dance my arse of barefeet in the grass on a warm summer night to some awesome music and the Ariba festival DJ so kindly enabled me to do that!
I apologize for the camera bouncing around as it couldn't help itself either!
After all, who can stand still to this fantastic and fun mix!

So as much as it was a big walk around the park to check out all of the oh so delicious smelling food vans, there was a hell of a lot of dancing involved too!
As some of you know, I'm a bit of a dancer- well I was back in my younger days and haven't done much dancing for the last decade until the first lot of lockdowns started here last year and then I started dancing again.
But as we were in lockdown, I was just in my living room for fitness. Since then, I can't stop dancing!
Unfortunately I've still only been dancing in my living room since we've only just came out of lockdown No.6 a month or so ago and have been absolutely dying to get out there an have fun dancing with other people!
And I finally had the chance to do that at the #AribaMexicanFestival.
So I hope that you have closed you eyes- just for a minute, to let your imagination take in the aromas of this fantastic array of #Mexican #LatinAmerican, #Colombian, #SouthAmerican, #Spanish, #Italian and even #African #foodvans
So what did I eat?
Well I ate a delicious Veggie Burrito for dinner from these Amigos!
And I ate some Churros for dessert.
And the day turns into night- well at was already about 9.30pm so light becomes dark and the lights go on while everyone dances to some crazy and funny Latin songs!
And then ofcourse, with the new camera, before I left, I just had to get the obligatory moon shots...
So I hope that you enjoyed my walk and my dance for @tattoo-djay #WednesdayWalk and I look forward to your comments and thoughts. And if you'd like some more info on the festival, then click on this link here https://www.melbournemexicanfestival.com.au/

How wonderful… the video made me certainly Smile 😊
Great to see so much happiness.
Thanks for sharing.
Followed you on Redbubble and FineArtAmerica with my JackieFineArt accounts.
Great to see people from Hive are there too.
Hey @littlebee4 so glad that you saw the happiness and fun in the video- it was soooo good to be there and involved in that little fun melee, considering I haven't done anything like that even way before the pandemic bought everything to a halt.
Great thanks for the follows and I too will find and follow you on both aswell.
I look forward to seeing your art!
Hi @chocolatescorpi I can imagine, I don’t usually mingle when there is a crowd, any time. But to see people having such a fun is just great. The energy that is put out is recharging and always positive then.
You are welcome. I just posted a post about the artworks I’m working on. 3 are in work of progress. I will post more later. You can find here : https://ecency.com/hive-156509/@littlebee4/wip-gouache-kingfisher-oranges-in
Thank you so much, much appreciated. 😊🙏
Loved the video people were having a blast, I love events like that all the food trucks and such and as for the dancing I like watching others dance but I seem to have two left feet and look like a fool dancing so I dont lOL
the Moon shots are famtastic
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
The thing is, that is only the people with 2 left feet who are watching the dancers notice the dancers who have 2 left feet, so if those people danced, then everyone would be dancing and no-one would notice or care about the people with 2 left feet (and by that time if night after day drinking, All of them had 2 left feet and a big wobbly boot on anyway...)
So the moral to the story, dance like no-ones watching and have fun anyway!
I give more credit to the peeps that think they can't dance cause they don't care and are having fun anyway.
Yes the moon shots turned out great. Have yet to get to a full moon with the new camera though...still getting to know the camera. Need a day to walk and relax with it to experiment more slowly rather than rushing around...Soon I head home to farm town NSW for a few days, so will have plenty of time in the back paddocks and river then.
Thats good advice I will try to remember that next time I am somewhere and dancing is going on
Have fun withthe camera when you head home ;)
so many people, so huge festival wow
and they all are without masks.
it's awful that now people without them can be met so seldom
don't you have all these restrictions?
Like to see so warm photos whenn it's only +5 here in my city:]
and what is Slushie lemonade?
Moon shot are cool:] I've made the same with my superzoom cam:]
Well actually considering that that festival usually has about 40K and this time there was only about 400 ppl, it wasn't so big at all as there was so much space around each of us and that's another reason I really enjoyed it, it wasn't too crowded at all.
We had very strict restrictions and 6 lockdowns with 9pm curfews- in fact we are the most locked down city in the world- 266 days in total out of 18months, but As most of us are now double vaxxed, we only have to wear masks indoors- shops/cafes/etc but I do wear my masks even when I'm outside and I have to walk through a crowd on the footpath. I think that that's just common sense (which there's not much of these days...)
But this new omnicron variant is making our numbers go way up again.
I think that because people don't get as sick when they are vaxxed, then they don't know that they are sick and are spreading it everywhere again...a double edged sword....
yes I LOVE SUMMER- even when it get to 45 celcius!
I didn't have the Slushie lemonade, but if its the same as a normal slushies then it's just a frozen ice drink with different flavours.
Yes I am just loving this new camera and the ability to zoom into the moon!
I only just got the camera a few weeks ago and haven't had the chance to shoot a full moon yet, but soon! and I really want to but away from the city- as I live right in the middle of the CBD.
Soon I will be going up to the country for a few days and it gets so dark up there at night with no city lights and you can see stars forever, so I am definitely taking my camera up there and going to shoot the hell out of that! 😃
great shots and vid. good to see everyone out and about enjoying themselves, the mainstream media in the uk do nothing but say Australia is under virtual martial law due to the covey malarkey. With no one out on the streets. Those moon shots are pin sharp. Nice
Thankyou. so glad to see that you enjoyed it (but not as much as me...lol...🤣..) but I'm sure by watching the vid you can see why I did have such a good time! 😂
Well the mainstream media over there were right, but we have been let out of the cage (many I wish could stay in there...) as we are mostly all dbl vaxxed by now- which I think is a double edged sword as people don't feel as sick, so they don't know that they've got it and are out and about spreading it everywhere...which is why I'm staying away from those packed streets. The streets are chokkabloc full of numbnuts and complete tools going crazy...
Yeah I really look forward to heading home for a few days over xmas out into the country and getting some moons shots and astrophotography where there are no lights at all. (so dark out there in my back paddock...)
Still got to pull my finger out and arrange a tripod though. I have all kinds of tripods coming out my...ears...but I need to find the right one though...and just had no time yet.
👍 will be good with no light pollution
Yep, exactly! Can't wait!
Even bought some glow stick things to try some proper light painting on bulb too...
nice @chocolatescorpi seasons greetings to you and yours
Thank you so much @grindle!
Hope you guys are having a brilliant xmas so far and are ready for a new and amazing new year full of great things ahead!
yup onwards and upwards
Wow, awesome! This post really cheered me up. If I was at the festival, I would definitely dance with you. But I will dance with the Jaipongan dance. Wkwkwkwk..... Jaipongan is a traditional dance in my country. Thank you for asking me to dance.
Oooh I can't wait for you to teach me how to dance your traditional dance some day! 😃
I enjoyed watching that dance and wished it was a little longer.
We have a different style of dance here and watching your kind makes it a whole new thing to watch and laugh.
Dancing alone can be boring atimes unless one is drunk and acting wierd😃
Everywhere looks beautiful and colorful and am happy you finally have the freedom to enjoy yourself
Yes and I would LOVE to try your style of dancing and one day I will too!
And yes I am still giggling about all of the people dancing there- especially because it was mostly drunken Aussies trying to dance like the Latin Americans do (Latin America is so far away from Australia...) and there is really no comparison, Latin Americans dance with style and pizzaz, whereas most Aussies just mostly sway to the beat as slow and as fast as they can with not much grace or style...I am generalising here ofcourse, cause some Aussies can really dance (but most can't- especially the guys...)
As much as I love dancing with others, I find dancing by myself can be just as enjoyable, but in an entirely different way as I find it to be very meditative and therapeutic!
And yes I agree, it's so nice to be 'free' but then there are still so many people get the virus every day, so we're still not really free, as much as most people think they are and behave like they are....
Anyway, I'm so glad that you enjoyed the festival as much as I did and I look forward to dancing with you one day! 😃
😃😃. It won't be bad for the two of us I hope.
And if it is, we'll be bad and laugh about it together! 😄
Queensland is open to the rest of Australia once again which is a celebration in itself. We are now wearing masks once again to halt the number of people getting covid. Oh hum, I so wish like every other Aussie that we will be free of this virus soon. Happy dancing🌼Hahaha, yes your fun night at the festival brought a smile with a bit of a chuckle to my face @chocolatescorpi, how wonderful that Melbourne is open after so many long lockdowns. It truly makes for a celebration.
Yes open and free, but not really free- especially since I'm now back 'working for the man' 5 days a week and certainly now free from the virus though so many people think so even though cases are rising...Not as bad a Sydney through eh.
Great to hear that QLD is now open to the rest of Australia, but....but...well I wish you guys luck up there and hope it doesn't travel north with the xmas tourists...
Looks like a blast, but I might be more interested in the food than the dancing. I assume there must be at least one Mexican at this festival, and I would be really curious to know how a Mexican ends up in Australia. There is now even a Mexican restaurant in Cambodia, and the family didn't get their by way of the USA either.
Yes it was a blast and a very long awaited on at that too!
Yes well there are definitely some here, though to have a festival, must be way more than I thought too, though I do know there is a HUGE Latin American community here, mostly from Venezuela, Colombia and even Peru...and there's an old and Huge Spanish and Italian community here- been here for decades- centuries even...
And you guys will be back in Cambodia soon eh!
How exciting and the relief...
