A glimpse, that is all one needs and wants really of modern Koblenz.
Let's have a look at the older bits, well I say older bits, most of the city has been rebuilt after WW2 bombing raids.
The memorial for the victims of National Socialism in Koblenz a very plain and understated memorial in a park opposite the Government building, "Remembers the persecuted, maltreated, murdered 1933-1945"
The rusted steel cage is part of the memorial
Even the cobblestone streets have been lovingly restored
Hygeia, the Greek goddess of health and beauty, keeps a watchful eye over the Altstadt
Fags, not very healthy. In the Uk these outdoor machines disappeared in the 1980's, due to an increase awareness of health issues?
Don't be daft, crime my friends, easy pickings for the scrotes
Oh my days, Ambrosia , food of the gods.
A shop dedicated to pipes accessories and tobacco. I fear Hygeia is asleep on the job
Not a cheap way to kill oneself, the prices of the bottom display range from 235-269 euros
Mini-me.
On the edge of the town hall square stands this little bastard! “Das Schängelchen” or the “Spitting Boy” Fountain, he randomly spouts water, he got me.
The City Church on Jesuit Square built in the 17th C, is now very modern inside
Görresplatz
A column standing 30ft high a gift in 1992 from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate to commemorate and celebrate the 2000th anniversary of the city of Koblenz. it depicts the city's history.
"Cheer up you miserable fucker"
" Well if you had been sitting here for the last 30yrs, rowing and getting nowhere, would you be all smiles for the camera?"
Some have no choice but to sit on the pavement
Some have nothing better to do on a weekend
The "everyday people' situated across Koblenz was an openair exhibition by sculptors/artists Christel & Laura Lechner
A total of 40 sculptures across a dozen locations from April to July 22.
Koblenz, stands at the junction of the Moselle and the Rhine rivers, so I jumped on a boat. See you soon.
Lol... This is very wholesome and you description for them is quite hilarious especially the sculpture of the boatman who is rowing but getting nowhere. Haha.
These artworks are amazing.

What a great walk through Koblenz. Love the sculptures… very cool.
Hahaha the fountain sprays randomly, that’s funny. 🤣😂
Some people don’t know what to do on weekends. I would rather be walking the fields, mountains and forest than to sit there. We need to live a little bit more. Don’t you think 😉
Have a great Wednesday @grindle 👋🏻
Totally agree @littlebee4
One life live it
Follow the lens
Indeed!
Cheers @grindle 👋🏻😊
The pipes were not cheap indeed... they are more like artworks ;)
And the sculptures are cool, hope they are not too bored 😁
cheers @mipiano , hand carved apparently, the statues from a distance at first I thought they were real. They seemed to go unnoticed by the majority of people there. I loved them
Such an awesome work and a fun read
The spitting boy statue is unique and annoying if he gets you I Guess
I love they restored the cobble stone streets I do love those
Thanks for joining the Wednesday, its always fun for me to visit the walks from all around the world, getting a feel for communities where people live and what they see on their daily walks
cheers @tattoodjay annoying for me yes! The kids that were there seemed to enjoy getting wet.
👍🙂👍
The Hygeia sculpture is a cool feature.
Looks like a nice city

Been to Germany many times great place and some great shots 👌
cheers @itsabandoned I love Germany tbh, just that the cuisine is shite
Yea I have had a few bad experiences in the restraints out there in the past a lot of the time I used to go to the supermarkets and purchase food and cook myself unless was out for the day or evening . And they love the beer but im not a lover of that as well so that's no good for me 🤣
There is always a macadees 😂 so I didn't starve. I prefer cider to beer normally but, the Germans have got their beer just perfect ......it went down well!!
