Every Wednesday begins a new chapter in a journey through the city's historic streets, which is indicative of how quickly the world is changing. I observed a brief period of time as the camera captured memorable events in the glistening light. Every turn in the road, looking at the car, until the fleeting moments are reflected in my perspective: the motorcyclist walking, to the adventurous crossroads bend, the market, to the fish sold at the fish market, revealing traces of the past when I see it as a part of my past memories, which are etched in the memory of the faces that pass by.
Biker moving forward.
Crossroads turn.
The market in the city's corner is the city's face.
Wednesday's view of the fish market in a city corner.
A selection of images of fish from this market, including tilapia fish, squid, big tiger prawns, little ones in the leaves, and raw rubies in banana leaves. Let's take a look below.
"Capturing the City: A Visual Story from Wednesday" invites us to observe the traces left by cars and motorcycles, feel the pulse of the city, and find beauty in every street with trees seen on the road, in the city.
On Wednesday, as dusk falls and a new chapter in the city's history is opened, this visual story comes to an end. It's an invitation for me to consider the past and the beauty I've passed by as I think back on it.
I trace the trail the city left behind through these images and words to the faces that were once there for all to see. Hopefully, "Capture the City: A Visual Story from a Wednesday" will encourage me to value the little things in life. Thank you for reading and viewing this story. Banda Aceh city, Indonesia
