watercolour is a transparent media and too good for outdoor study also. Because this can be done very quickly.Watercolor wash can quickly create the shade of nature and the atmosphere.
Technically when painting outdoors I use a lot of colour and water in the first wash.
This is because watercolors look relatively dark when wet, but become a little lighter when dry.
As usual then I repainted some of the shaded parts. Since the content is a ship, I end up drawing some subtle simplistic lines with a thin brush.
This watercolor take about an hour time.
