The photo is of a morning glory I took on my way home from volunteering that had one blooming.
I went to volunteer for the election on Monday (10/14) and Tuesday (10/15). I went to the election office of a candidate whom I support in my ward.
I heard that volunteer centers are actually set up in each prefecture, but I was told to work at the ward office after reading the address in my application e-mail, so I went there.
On Monday, I folded leaflets. I only have to fold two sheets of paper that are already printed on one sheet of paper, but folding them one at a time takes a lot of time, so they showed me how to go faster: align 15 sheets and fold them all at once, pull out one sheet at a time, and finally fold them together one more time.
To make the folds stronger, I rolled a large dry cell battery or a glass bottle to make the folds. About three people joined us from the middle and we were able to finish the folding quickly.
I was very tired afterwards, but I managed to get a good night's sleep to recover, and today, Tuesday, I went to the campaign site to put up the stamps. I had heard a certain candidate make a speech at a nearby intersection before the election, but his first words at today's ceremony were much more powerful than usual.
There were many volunteers who came today, and all of them worked diligently and were able to put up the signs without any problems.
I was constantly receiving phone calls and seeing many people coming in and out of the office, which made me feel that the election had started.
I felt that the election had started, and I felt very tense.

写真はボランティアの帰りに１輪咲いていた朝顔を撮った写真です。
月曜日（10/14）、火曜日（10/15）と選挙ボランティアに行ってきました。私の住む区にちょうど応援している某候補者の選挙事務所があったので行ってきました。
本当は都道府県単位でボランティアセンターが設置されているらしいのですが、私の応募メールの住所を見て区の事務所で作業するようにと言われたのでそこに行きました。
月曜日はビラ折りをしました。既にペラ1枚に印刷してあるものを2つ折りにするだけなのですが、1枚ずつ折っていくとかなり時間がかかるので、速く進める方法を教えてくれました。15枚ずつ揃えて一気に折り、1枚ずつ抜いていって最後にまとめてもう1度折る、というものです。
強く折るために大きな乾電池とか、ガラス瓶とかを転がして折り目を付けました。途中から３人くらい加わってくれて早く折り終わることができました。
終わったらすごく疲れたのですがなんとかよく寝て回復させて、今日火曜日は証紙貼りに行きました。9時頃着いたら丁度出発式をやっていました。某候補者は選挙前から近くの交差点で演説しているのを聴いてはいたのですが、今日の出発式の第一声はいつもとは比べ物にならないほど力強かったです。
今日はボランティアの方も多数来ていて、みんな真面目に作業する方ばかりで証紙貼りも無事出来ました。
事務所内はひっきりなしに電話がかかったり人の出入りが多かったりで、選挙が始まったんだなあと思って気が引き締まりました。
