in Worldmappin โ€ข 4 years ago

Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹there!! Me again. The first night at Kathmandu went well at Shangri-la Hotel. It was cold weather. So I had to put on warm clothes that I packed before ๐Ÿ™ƒ. After my usual morning routine, I decided to go outside. So I called for a car that I booked before and went for a ride ๐Ÿš— to my destination Kathmandu Patan Golden Temple๐Ÿ›•.

Actually I woke up early so I didn't get a chance to have breakfast. And my car driver Santosh insisted on having some local food. So we stopped at an old and small roadside restaurant. Also the hotel boy packed me some breakfast ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฒ

The big sized Monkey God Idol is here and the heavy Temple bell is in chains.

This Golden Temple is also called Hiranya Varna Mahavihara or Kwa Baha. This 12 century architecture is both Hindu ๐Ÿ•‰ Temple and Buddhist โ˜ธ Monastery. This Temple is a world heritage place and famous for rat feeding. It has two parts one is dedicated to Hindu God Hanuman(the famous Monkey God). When you enter this Temple, you can see many monkeys roaming here and there. Then you have to ride a long staircase to go to it's second part, which is dedicated to Buddha. I couldn't get a picture inside the Temple because cameras are not allowed. You need a minimum 2 or 3 hrs to roam around all over. Also you have to pay entrance fees. I spent only 1 hr because I had to visit other places.

Then I went to the other site Boudha Stupa which is located nearby. This is also a beautiful ๐Ÿ‘Œโค Temple. In here you can many small Temple, separated Buddhist Monastery and small shops, where you can buy souvenir, ancient books ๐Ÿ“š and handicrafts. Also you can see a lot of pigeons. If you want, you can feed them ๐Ÿ˜‰. I spent only an hour because I had a flight โœˆ๏ธ to another city Pokhara.

It was 12 pm so I had to go to Airport to catch my plane. So I had to finish my sightseeing quickly. It was almost a busy day ๐Ÿ˜ช for me. But I overjoyed everything though I was tired ๐Ÿ˜ซ and didn't have time for lunch. Still it was a sweet memory.

I hope you people enjoyed my experience. See you soon ya ๐Ÿ˜Š.

To be continuedโ€ฆ

wonderful photos and when I look at them, reading your story, I remember it just like that (was there in 2007)

But most of the Temple were under renovation ๐Ÿ˜ฅ. So I did not get a chance to visit many of them.
