After the Convention we went as a family to visit other places in Belgium and the first one we visited is Leuven, located east of the capital Brussels, it is very famous for its breweries.
It is located at the confluence of the rivers Dijle and Voer, in the region of Flanders, it is a city with university characteristics and a large group of students live there.
To get there from Bruges, where we were, we went through Ghent and Brussels and spent about two hours to get there in our car.
The first thing I will show you is the Church of St. Peter of Leuven located in Grote Markt which is the main market square of the city and also the facade of this.
Here is the Great Leuven Beguine Beguinage which extends on both sides of the Dijle river.
This building is the Catholic University of the city, the models looking at it are my wife, daughter and niece.

The following photos are of the Great Beguinage of Leuven, it is a very well preserved and completely restored historic district that contains a dozen streets in the south of the city center, in one of them you can see the family.
I like to photograph the streets and this is one of many in the city.
In this photo taken by my wife I am at the flea market around the cathedral square in Leuven trying to pick some mushrooms to take back to the hotel for dinner.
The sun goes down and there is time to photograph the Tafelrond building here next to the town hall before going to our room for another tour the next day which I will perpetuate in another post

I love Leuven! I lived there during my studies in 2009/2010. It's such a charming town 🙂
