IN-BETWEEN : gwenfinity goes to Bacolod City ๐
Let me share with you our Bacolod Trip before Pandemic hits the World!
Facts:
Bacolod City known as the City of smile is found in Negros Occidental, the capital source of Sugar in the country. Bacolod also celebrates Maskara Festival every October, similar to Sinulog colorful and very festive.
How to travel Bacolod by Land via car: (from our home, Minglanilla)
1.) You take Naga, Uling road then Toledo Port. it takes 2- 3 hours depending on your speed and traffic.
2.) From Toledo Port, you take a roro (barge) that will take you to San Carlos City and it will just take an hour.
3.) From San Carlos City, you take Don Salvador Benedicto road (you can use navigation, like Waze or google Maps) for about 2-3 hours you will reach Bacolod City.
4.) There are so many Hotel choices in Bacolod, warm and friendly staff.
Traveling with my family was our bonding time, a break from work & school. We love inland travel, for us, we have more time to talk and explore the beauty of nature & sightseeing.
What are the top sites to visit when in Bacolod:
1.) The Ruins - The Ruins are the remains of the ancestral home mansion of the family of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Maria Braga Lacson.
2.) San Sebastian Cathedral - The San Sebastian Cathedral is a late 19th-century church
3.) Park
4.) Campuestuhan Resort โ 5 hectares of land overlooking Mount Makawili, this rural theme park resort is within 24 km from both the town of Bacolod, and the Marapara Golf and Country Club.
We did not miss Campuestuhan Resort, of course, let me take you there!
They offer a variety of rides, themed swimming pools where kids and adults can enjoy. They have food selections from burritos to ice cream stands, tents, and cottages. Sky Bicycle is a must-try, my daughter really conquered her fear of heights. They also have Dinoland, which my youngest daughter adores all the robotic dinosaurs. They have wave and foam swimming pools, we really had a great time.
And of course, we never missed to taste the famous "chicken inasal", oh soo good and tasty a bowl of extra rice is a must!
Bacolod is rich in culture and religion, people are warm and very accomodating. Don't forget to take home their fancy "Pasalubongs", from key chains, mugs, ref magnets, T-Shirts and most of all delicacies. These are barquillos, tarts, meringues, butterscotch, piaya & napoleones.
Hope this Blog helped you with the facts about Bacolod City.
When everything is back to normal where you can roam freely I will surely visit Bacolod again!
Stay tuned on my next Blog for love, life & in-betweens are as easy as ABC :)
