Hello dear friends,
Once again, I’m here today to share with you some photos I took in another interesting place in Tuscany, which this time is located in the municipality of Montecatini Val di Cecina, in the province of Pisa. Another beautiful Tuscan village, very likely of Etruscan origin, but it had its peak during the medieval period.
I’m talking about Miemo. Naturally, I had to leave my car a little distance from the village because the road was not very drivable. A few days earlier, there had been heavy rains, so I didn’t trust driving on it. But from the very first steps, I could already notice the beautiful nature surrounding this place.
Right away, I saw a beautiful fountain where people probably once washed clothes, or simply came to get water for their homes.
The first thing I noticed was the Church of Saint Andrew. Unfortunately, this place is within a private farm. From what I understood, the entire village was probably once owned by a single noble proprietor, and now it’s practically a private residence.
Those of you who paid close attention surely noticed the photo of a castle. In fact, originally there was a magnificent castle here, which over the years fell into decline. As I mentioned, the area was eventually transformed entirely into a farm.
Of course, in this village as well, I encountered numerous cats, always seeking cuddles and affection.
Let’s say that part of the castle remains in a section of the tower, which in subsequent years was incorporated into the construction of the house. From what I understood, the farm is still active as an agricultural business, and fortunately, the buildings have been preserved over the years.
I was able to speak with one of the owners, and he told me that their intention is to create a bed and breakfast in the future. I think it could be an excellent idea because the place is truly beautiful and very peaceful.
I hope you liked the photos I shared. As usual, I wish you all a great day, and see you next time!

It must have been fun to explore and discover the village, especially with all the cats around.
Absolutely, it was really fun! 😻 Every corner of the village seemed to have a new furry friend ready to be introduced. The cats made the atmosphere even more magical and welcoming!
