Imagine that justice allows a part of a criminal’s body to be removed as revenge for the victim, until nothing is left of the criminal. Progressive and selective amputation is the central theme of this horror/thriller short film, which focuses on Willie Bingham, the first man to undergo this radical justice program. In just 15 minutes, it tackles complex themes such as legal procedures and the limits of human morality.

We continue with horror as the main theme, but this time the story focuses more on exploring the human psyche through introspection, narrating the terrifying encounter between a young woman and a stranger. Hacía rato que no pasaba a dejar recomendaciones fílmicas, así que hoy, en lugar de una, les traigo tres películas en formato de cortometraje que sé que serán de su agrado. Como siempre, todas están disponibles en YouTube y les dejaré el enlace para que puedan encontrarlas fácilmente.
Los cortos o cortometrajes son películas breves con una duración que puede ir desde menos de un minuto hasta 30 minutos. Se caracterizan por encapsular una historia y narrativa en un tiempo breve, sin afectar la narración o la complejidad de la misma. Quizás el punto fuerte de los cortometrajes es lograr en ese tiempo tan breve impactar en el espectador y generar emociones y sentimientos. Un filme que evoca el desasosiego a través de su atmósfera de lugares oscuros pero comunes y que, a pesar de ser públicos, se sienten limítrofes y aislados. Un ritmo que hace que nuestra ansiedad vaya en crescendo nos mantendrá todo el tiempo al borde del asiento.

¿Qué pasaría si un día tu tranquilidad es rota por alguien que te observa desde el patio de tu casa? Preocupada, llamas a tu padre y te pide que no le quites la mirada de encima al intruso. While I watch a ton of youtube and really enjoy movies, I never really watch any short films on it even though they seem to be freely available. I guess finding them is one of the issues. I might check these out if I find some spare time.
