Part 4/9:
Facing a lack of opportunities, Josh opted to attend Reedley College, an hour away from home, after being encouraged by Ernie Rodriguez, the college's offensive coordinator who recognized his potential. Taking on a backup role initially, Allen's breakthrough came when he eventually snagged a starting position. He showcased his talents by running for four touchdowns in his first collegiate game and finishing the season with impressive statistics—2,555 yards and 26 touchdowns.
With an eye toward playing at a higher level, Josh sent emails to every college possible. His persistence paid off when he received offers from Eastern Michigan and Wyoming. Allen chose Wyoming after their coach, Craig Bohl, personally visited him, expressing interest in making him the focal point of the program.
