The odds were against the Giants, with many experts predicting a decisive victory for the Patriots. However, the Giants would not be deterred.
They established an early lead with a field goal, chasing the formidable Patriots who responded with a touchdown. Yet, by halftime, the Patriots could muster only seven points against a determined Giants defense.
