One of the most challenging truths to accept is that you will be forgotten sooner than you think. This realization often evokes a sense of heartbreak. Despite our life-long efforts to make a difference, the relentless march of time means that memories and legacies fade. Nevertheless, Buddhism offers a liberating perspective: the doctrine of no self suggests that permanence is an illusion. Like waves in the ocean, we come and go, leaving ripples that merge into the greater flow of life.
