When I hear of how people spend extravagantly in December, I just smile because I have no idea what that is about. Maybe it’s because I don’t celebrate the holidays. My spending is the same through out the year. I don’t have specific months I spend more or less.
I can understand how our minds free us of guilt of spending over during the holidays though. The point of making money after all is to be able to spend it.
I find the fact that people raise prices in the midst of the holidays to collect huge profits counterintuitive. You would think that people would be considerate enough to do the opposite to allow even the poor and struggling enjoy the holidays.
I think it's virtually because you don't celebrate the season at all. If not you'll be forced to spend, either on friends and family or maybe when it comes to matching or meeting up with inflated prices whatsoever. I don't celebrate it really, but I had to, even because the regular market had inflated prices..
