I agree that athletes to be selected for matches must have their merits and not be chosen because of their famous names.
This was for the all star game. And the Mets player sucked this year. They underperformed so they were not deserving of it.

All of the above. Those were the common sports in the US and still are. Hockey is only big as a high school sport in a few parts of the country.
I would say that baseball is falling off a bit with the younger kids, they are more into football (American) and basketball...along with video games. LOL
