The question of whether the opportunity of dollar-cost averaging (DCA) is over is a topic of ongoing debate among investors. Recent discussions and analysis underscore varying perspectives on the viability of DCA in the current market conditions.
As of late December 2024, the leading crypto Bitcoin has reportedly entered a favorable zone for implementing DCA strategies, according to the BTC Smart DCA Indicator.
This suggests that for many investors, now could be an opportune time to consider DCA as a method for accumulating Bitcoin.
According to a survey, over 83.5% of crypto investors have utilized DCA, and 59% of them continue to do so as their primary purchasing method. This indicates that despite market volatility, there is still a lot of interest in DCA.
In alternative views, at this juncture, investing in altcoins might offer better opportunities compared to Bitcoin. This view reflects a division among investors regarding the best strategy moving forward.
DCA is often recommended as a long-term investment strategy that helps alleviate the impact of market volatility. By consistently investing fixed amounts over time, investors can average out their purchase prices and reduce emotional decision-making during market volatility.
Even though DCA can be useful, it might only produce moderate returns when compared to lump-sum investments during periods of bull market activity. Furthermore, some investors express concerns about capital inefficiency when deploying funds gradually rather than all at once.
Some believe that the current state of the market is favorable for maintaining this strategy, while others think that the possibility for Bitcoin DCA may be diminishing in favor of altcoins. The effectiveness of DCA ultimately depends on individual investment goals and market outlooks.

I've used DCA 2.0 while in the bear market.. put in some funds every month but make limit orders on lower targets using TA on the chart, most got hit the next weeks...
Now prices are this high I'm putting in limit buy orders at big crash levels.
