Yeah you just jump on Hive.vote and search his name. @enforcer48 is a pretty solid dude (depending on what discord you're in people think he is a woman 🤣) I find his integrity really reassuring and does a great job.

Thanks for the quick reply. The recommendation makes sense.

So if "@"enforcer48 down votes someone everyone in the rail downvotes the same post?

If this is the case, does that mean the the down votes done this way make up a bit for the up votes which happen as usual?

In a way, its to cut down the rewards the user will get at the payout time. I guess in a way combats all the voting trials and one or two people can't lower down the amount by much.

One reason for the downvote is to bring rewards inline with what they should be. Some crappy posts somehow end up with a den-worth of LEO when it's obvious it shouldn't have that much LEO, so the downvote can be made then. It's meant to be a way to restore or maintain balance rather than a way to punish.

You won't get upvotes unless you follow his account for upvotes but you will get a bigger payout in general as downvotes shrink the payouts of people rorting the block chain.

That's good to know. So I would need to follow the account both at the blog level and at the Hive.Vote level for that to work as you described.

If you go to Hive.vote it's all automatic and whenever enforcer48 downvotes someone your account will too automatically

I think you can follow the downvote trail via hive.vote

That much I knew from my experience with Hive.Vote. I was wondering why "@"enforcer48 specifically.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Maybe his trail is followed by other well know accounts as well. And it constantly fights abuse. I am sure there are other trails like that.

That's a good point. That's a good reason to use a down vote trail. I just don't want people complaining about down votes they get from me by way of the down vote trail.

(At the moment, I have more self-DVs than DVs given to me by others. That's ATM.)

I think my only downvotes were given to spammers and when people requested downvotes do remove rewards from a post they have done by mistake (such as duplicate posts, wrong tag posts and so on)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I gave myself downvotes for duplicate posts and for replies to the wrong comments; after I redid the reply to the correct comment I downvoted the reply I made in error.

Not including obvious spam or phishing posts, this is why I downvoted.

Just like my upvote, my downvote doesn't mean much. So I am not going to join any downvoting or upvoting trail for now.

And as you said, it attracts attention that I don't want in my life. Downvotes hurt egos. Period.

It generates a ton of drama...and one of the reasons why I don't visit POB as much anymore.

Downvotes have their purpose, but they need to be used carefully.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'll stick to manual activity. At least I know what I'm doing that way.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Same here man. If we are actively engaging then why not vote actively as well.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I also don't want to join a downvote trial right now. I reserve my downvotes for phishers but who knows what will happen in the future.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

We don't wantphishing e-mails, so why would we want phishing posts? We don't.

Good question. I never heard about a dwonvote trail

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I hadn't heard of DV trails either until I started using Hive.Vote. It makes sense that they would exisit, though.
