So in theory if a Splinterlands Players' Draft were held someone could have a team consisting of @taskmaster4450le, @kevinnag58, @jfang003, @finguru, @forexbrokr, and @tfranzini.

Well, Splinterlands is actually already in the process of implementing something like that. You will be able to use your SPS to bet on or own or back (not sure how they're doing it yet) certain players and then you may be paid on how they do?
It's something like that. I haven't read into it very much yet, but it's coming... :-)

It must have been a good idea of the game developers thought of it long before it occurred to this non-player.

Yes, it's not fantasy per se, but it is in the ballpark. You're idea could work if there were some name-recognition inside the game itself. I think it will be a while before that happens. The tournaments are being played pretty regularly so there is starting to be some, but it's going to take a while.

Name recognition.... That's a major consideration I hadn't considered for Fantasy Splinterlands. I just thought the players would know who the top star players were.
I agree, it could take a while for that to develop. Maybe Fantasy Splinterlands is an idea ahead of its time.
