Greetings, fellow sentient beings!
I'd like to take you back with me a dozen years ago to a lecture on writing for the press. I had a teacher who was beyond retirement, pretty aged, quite direct and unforgiving in his opinions, idealistic still in what he taught. Aye, the problem is working for the media has nothing much in common with studying the ideals and good practices of working for the media since no media is financially independent...until decentralized blockchain media we might argue? Would we be here if we had no financial incentives coming from others? Do we not conform to social rules. The situation is always...It Depends.
But I digress.
The talk of the lecture I had in mind was about two ways of thinking and two ways of building your publications...
Building tall or building wide.
Thinking about a certain aspect of a topic and adding logically connected content on top, helping it grow tall...Or thinking bout all the aspects of a topic and spreading them wide, looking from different angles...
You can actually combine the two and get a nice city-like profile of various aspects growing tall all along the width of the skyline but...
What if you had to put a priority on one of them only?
What would you prefer your Hive blockchain space be? A one-trick pony? A city with various buildings housing various projects and growing differently tall all along the skyline? An onion?
Why an onion?
Layers beneath. A foundation of multitude of aspects. Leaves showing above the ground and shooting up.
These are pretty young. I planted them less than a month ago and I took the picture three days ago or so.
I like my Hive blockchain as I like my onions. Living on, reaching further, lots of layers wrapped around the core.
Why do you think I grow onions? To eat them or sell them?
Both wrong.
I do this in order to learn how to do this. Better. I like building wide when it comes to skills and knowledge.
Don'r forget we have other dimensions, too.
Peace!
Yours,
Manol

Bro! First, I grow onion too, so it speaks to me.
But also, what you are saying is exactly why I am still posting... I am practicing for the day I am super fucking famous and become the first mega crypto superstar, each of my farts will be NFT'ed like Belle Delphine's Bath water(currently out of stock).
Fuck, I think I even found new vocations in the process, I am good at talking about MMA, so it might be my profession now? Am I still a singer?
That's the type of onion I am...
You're an awesome kind of Mixed Onion Arts :) It all seems like a great plan so keep on!
Hahaha mixed Onion Art, that's a good one cheeeeers!
I think as far as Hive goes, it is about building wide - a wide range of usecases where while not many may be hyper successful, many will build a solid user base that adds value and keeps spreading. building tall means that once the use case falls from favour, the tower comes tumbling down.
Ah, but the keep spreading part more than often feels as if some low ceiling was reached and never gone through. and each project by itself still has the vulnerability of a tower. Even among other towers within sight from the windows.
Still, perhaps this is the same as in Nature's diversification strategy. The strong will survive and the Hive will keep evolving?
