I don't get it either. If we look at the trending tags list, most of it just nonsense. Doesn't serve its purpose. If there was some relevant tags, users could use the list to quickly find content they are interested in.
For every 10 threads or comments using the #freecompliments tag you are rewarded 1 HSBI at the end of the month. Answering questions or helping people does bring value

Just like the name of the tag , it should mostly be used when we are giving compliments to someone or group of people or to someone we quoted in a thread.
By doing so, we earn some hsbi shares and other rewards from the commuity at the end of every month.
Although it has dividends to use tag #freecompliments it should be relevant and should not end up in tag spamming.
Personally, a couple of days ago, I decided to experiment, seeing that many do this, if it brings benefits, let it be useful, if not, then I will simply stop doing it :) !VSC
