I entered during the cassette tape era which meant it was a pain in the ass to get to the start of a specific song. Had to ff and rewind until got it right.
CDs radically changed that, something I thought was a passing fad.

FF, RR, if you where lucky you would have a counter on your cassette player, you could make notes of counter for start of each song. Imagine young people today doing that! lol
