In last few days we have started discussing about the drama genre of cinema. Today's topic is the musical drama. This movie type features a dramatic plot with a strong musical presence.
Often concerning people connected to the entertainment business in some form, the soundtrack is often used to comment or illustrate on the mood of the characters. India has witnessed a significant growth in the musical drama webseries on Amazon prime in last few years.

The drama part is more because of the historical aspects, the show is fun and the songs are catchy

I remember watching it when I was young and there was obsession to watch movies of Aishwarya Rai
Rockstar is my favourite and one of the most successful musical drama of Bollywood. Its a great love story and musical journey of a roadside romeo who rose to fame for love and his own ambition. Music of this movie is so great and great performance by Ranbir kapoor making him a huge star.
Beloved and 8 Women are the two french movies which were based on the theme of musical drama and were quite popular.
