I want to contribute to the question of today:
WHAT IS THE DANGER OF NOT SPREADING THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST WORLDWIDE AS YOU DO? (Part 2of3)
Theologians call Mark 16:9-20 as the longer ending of Mark.This ending is quoted by the Bishop Irenaeus around the year 180s. So we know that the documents already existed during the 2nd century.
Howbeit, these 11 verses do not appear in many important manuscript, including the two oldest surviving Greek manuscript of the new testament, The Codex Sinaiticus and The Codex Vaticanus.
Even as early as the 4th century, the church historian Eusebius pointedly excluded these verses from his Canons explaining in a letter to his friend Marinus that the best copies of Mark that he knows of all ended at the 8th verse.
Shortly after, Jerome also expressed his doubts that these verses are original to Mark, since almost all of the Greek books he had encountered do not carry them.
There are internal evidence that speak against these verses too.
It's not in conformity with Matt 28:19 "Go ye into the world and preach the gospel"
It is not wrong to go house to house preaching the gospel but it will be wrong if you will wait for the end to come from just going house to house when there are means of communication where you can get as many people as possible.
Rather than waiting for the end or go from corner to corner preaching to individuals, personally,it behooves us to utilize every means available to preach.
Technology gives us opportunity to reach a wider audience. Well do well to utilize it. Even Apostle Paul Categorically spells it that he didn't restrict the gospel to a corner Acts 26:26b.
