You guys are lucky, I’m so jealous of you…
This is what a co-worker told me the other day when we were talking about our future plans.
The jealous part i can understand just a little bit, the “lucky” part not so much. Telling us we are lucky to be able to do this is BS! When people say things like that it kinda annoys me.
Why? you ask?
Because people just don’t seem to understand luck has nothing to do with it. It all comes down to making choices, set your priority’s and most of all
JUST DO IT!
We strongly believe most of the time you create your own luck by setting goals and work hard towards achieving them. If you tell us we are “lucky” it sounds like we won a free vacation or something. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The only reason we are able to afford making the choice to quit our jobs and sell our home is because of planning. It’s not something you do in a split second, but it’s a goal you need to work for to reach it. It starts with an idea, just like a seed that has been planted in the ground.
Not all seeds grow out to be a beautiful tree or flower, most of them shrink and die because of external factors like the lack of nutrients, sun or water.
Only those seeds that are nourished well enough grow out to be something beautiful.
When you ask 10 people if they want to travel or live on a sunny tropical island probably 8 out of 10 would scream YES!
Ask these people if they want to be a millionaire and now probably 10 out of 10 would scream YES! from the top of their lungs. Who wouldn’t right ?
But now ask those same 10 people what they are doing to achieve this other lifestyle or what they are doing to become that millionaire they all wanted to be.
Most of them do nothing to achieve their goal. In fact, when they see someone who did take the time and effort to reach a certain goal and is reaping the rewards from it, you’ll hear he must have been “lucky”
