Having a business does not mean you have a lot of money, sometimes the last money you have in your pocket depends on where you put it whether it will be forever gone or just roll it over.

Hello, it's me again @chimegipamus sharing my small ideas on the ukay business and how it started.
Join me today and get some bits and pieces of steps to roll out our money in this business. Let's get started.

I just started this small business a week ago. My sister-in-law convinced me to start as she is doing well also. I thought of it many times before decided to push it through. She taught me many things about how and what to do, everything she went through and gave me some advice.

She also told me that it is a risk when doing this business and that I should be willing to accept any loss, but there is money in the ukay business if you know how to run it.

When my mother-in-law visited us she gave me 10 thousand pesos to start. I was not sure before it happened cause I was not yet convenience but when she handed me the money I asked God to guide me if this was His will. Another week passed and decided to purchase two bales from my sister-in-law's supplier.

I ordered a mini dress and K-tees which after a week arrived, and when I opened the first bale which was the mini dress I was wowed because there were lots of beautiful dresses. After two days another bale came and it had a lot of wonderful tees and blouses.

My niece Abby helped me in our online too, Emelie my sidekick was our model as almost all dresses fit her. We had our Facebook live selling and we sold out a thousand and seven hundred for three hours. I did not expect to be sold out directly since we are just new to this kind of trend, but with the help of my family, it went well on the first day.

The following days we had it displayed in front of our house in the garage area. We had our ads on the gate and hung some of the dresses and tees. Neighbors came and looked at our displays, some came and reserved some clothes and will come back later, some came back some never 😅.

But it was alright for us if they never came and got what they reserved for maybe because there are more important things to purchase first. The days went by not so fast but they are coming in.

The good thing about this business is it never spoiled, you can post it online if you want to welcome more customers and you can also display it for some people to come and choose what they want. Three days from the opening, I already got my capital for the first bale and there were still a lot of beautiful dresses available which I planned to mark down the price for the next week.

Here are some tips to start this business:

  1. Order from a known supplier who has a good reputation and can be sure that their products have good reviews.
You cannot choose your bale because it was wrapped and sealed already so you can never be sure that your orders will always be good. That is why choose your suppliers and tell them to give you a good one.

  2. In every business you should track down every expense that went out for example the price of the bale plus the shipping fee, plus the tips, the salary of the helpers and your hard work divided by the number of pieces in one bale so you can have the price for each piece. Add a little profit to it. When you reach your goal, mark down your price so everything will be sold out cheaper.

  1. My sister-in-law said if you already get the target profit and the capital and there are still more give it anyway instead of staying in your house.

Now I have my third bale which is Maxi Dress, I am so excited to have our live this coming Thursday. I always checked the clothes one by one to see if there were stains and holes. I remember the first time that I opened my bale when I washed almost everything and I got tired for two days. This time I decided not to wash it anyway.

Co Filipino loves Ukay, may bibili at bibili nyan, as long as they like it. Good Luck on this business ventures of yours. I hope tuloy tuloy na.
