Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
After much talking back and forth, the big day has finally come! Today the Hoomans went to the local animal shelter and adopted two approximately 4-months old "large kittens!"

The shelter was having a price reduction on adoption fees for a few days because they are very full with cats and kittens at the moment so that was also the "signal" that the time had come.
So we are very happy to welcome Shangri and Lala to our home!
The new housemates arrive!
I got to see them very briefly through the cat carrier door when they first arrived but for now they are getting to know us and the smells of their new place in a room by themselves where they have their own food and water, and beds and cat tree and litter box.

Naturally they're a little nervous right now because they've had a big day but we feel comfortable that they're going to settle in well and fit into our little world.

I think they are actually relieved to have a little peace, as their temporary pen was right by the front door of the animal shelter, and there were lots of people and noise there, today.

These two are brother and sister from the same litter, and they were the last two of six kittens that had been brought in for adoption.

Shangri is the boy kitty... he is somewhat lanky with pale yellow and white fur and his tail is slightly fluffy which makes us think he might end up being a medium haired cat when he grows up. He has beautiful amber eyes and he's a little bit on the shy and reserved side. All the same he is very friendly.

Lala is the girl and she is essentially a calico. She is super Zen and very friendly and curious, and she was the first to start exploring and playing with toys in the new space. She is your basic short haired cat, but we think she might grow fairly large because she's got really big paws.

So far we've only taken a limited number of pictures of them because they had already had a stressful day when the Hoomans brought them home and it was getting to be towards evening.

We're going to let them settle in for a few days before we take a trip to the vet for our own health check, although they already have had their shots and health exam from the shelter.
So far we have only seen curiosity and no stiff tails and hissing during the brief time everybody came face to face.

Shangri is such a unique color! and I love Lala's dark little nose. They are both so adorable and I can tell they are grateful to be living in a home together.
