Who doesn't love chicken curry?
But every time the same chikan curry kinda boring, right? I was thinking to try something new. I am a lazy cook, so I was looking for a shortcut. You can call this recipe masala chicken, gravy chicken or chicken with yogurt and honey, anything.
This is not the traditional curry but it also goes pretty well with steamed rice. Is also quite similar to the masala curry. Let me share...
Preparing the masala
I am not giving full detail of the masala/ spices I used. It's just a click away, you can search masala chicken ingredients on Google and you will get full detail.
So moving on to my cooking.
I roast the chicken pieces before cooking. After preparing the masala, I put all the roasted pieces then cook it for a minimum of 15 minutes to mix well with all the spices.
When it started to become tinder it's time to add some curd. I added one cup of curd with some extra lemon juice. Then cook for another 5 minutes. It will become more kinder and soft. Now it's time to add our honey sugar and green chilies.
Put a lid on, add some water if needed, and took it for another 10 minutes mix it after a few minutes if needed. It will be done in around 22-25 or 30 minutes.
It will look like this.
Serve it with rice, roti, or paratha. It's so rich yet tender and delicious. Worth trying.
One thing I always say, you don't have to worry too much about putting all the ingredients, in the right amount. Rather focus on the art of cooking. You can skip some ingredients if that is not available to you or add some more if you think it will be good going with your taste buds. It all depends on how you can enjoy your cooking and eating.
