Big day today as I got some good news at work. I have been working towards this outcome for almost a year. Sometimes, it takes a long time to get to the positive outcome.
My wife was there with me supporting my efforts, coaching me with my presentations, and advising me all along the way. Without her help, I would have never made it as the deck was completely stacked against me.
I don't know the details yet, and I don't know how big of a win it will be, but it opens up a career path that was not available to me in the past.
I believe that it will result in a progression in the future and will have a big long-term impact. Of course, it comes with more responsibility and me having to exercise some of the skills I have not been using recently, but I am ready for the challenge.
On the crypto front, we had a real meltdown over the past couple of days. Bitcoin is back up to 88k, and some of my favorite speculative tokens are off their lows. NEAR is back up over $3, AERO is recovering, and ONDO is up to 98 cents.
These are still good prices compared even to a week ago. I am still working with my son to start the dollar cost average into some crypto.
Hive is back under 30 cents, but it is still way off the lows we saw last year. Considering the meltdown in altcoins, I think it is holding up pretty well.
We had a session where we sat down and actually opened the new Coinbase account for him, but since he only has a money market account, we were not able to fund it.
His task for this week is to open a checking account at the same bank. We will see if that is going to happen. So far, the delay has been beneficial price wise.
On the Splinterlands side, I am waiting for the team to announce that a blockchain snapshot is available in order for me to be able to start running an SPS validator node.
The software has been released, but only the company that built the software is able to run validator nodes at this time. I guess they are testing the software in production right now.
My Hive Witness is running perfectly and has not missed any blocks after I went live with it. There were three blocks that were missed during the setup.
The specs on the SPS node are much lower than on the Hive node, so it will be much easier to set up.
All the images in this post were taken by me in Seattle, Washington, using my old Samsung Galaxy S20 FE phone. Samsung S25 is out, so that is a pretty old phone and is due for the upgrade as its battery is not holding the charge anymore.
Yesterday and today, I did pretty well steps wise. Both days, I was able to achieve over ten thousand steps. And both days I and my wife went on a walk and today I also did a weight lifting workout in my garage.

Congratulations on the possible new promotion at work!💪
Nice to see you and your son opening up a COINBASE account to DCA
I have been trying for the last year to encourage my two grown and married sons to DCA to no avail 🙄
I even bought both a Trezor and gifted them some BTC Sat’s…..
