La experiencia de hacer fotos en un concierto es un momento que disfruto mucho y me llena de emoción, a pesar de que cada ocasión es un desafío particular. Llegar a la Corporación Cultural Atabanza, Boyacá-Colombia, y no saber que voy a encontrar es la incertidumbre que abrazo, solo confío en que la música me atrapará y me hará dar lo mejor de mí para hacer que cada disparo cuente y cada momento sea plasmado mágicamente. La sala teatral de Atabanza es llamada "Sala del Grillo"; allí, el escenario hace que te sumerjas entre la atmósfera que se crea con la iluminación y el sonido.
The experience of taking pictures at a concert is a moment that I enjoy very much and fills me with emotion, even though each occasion is a particular challenge. Arriving at the Cultural Corporation Atabanza, Boyacá-Colombia, and not knowing what I will find is the uncertainty I embrace, I just trust that the music will catch me and make me give the best of me to make every shot count and every moment be captured magically. La iluminación y el movimiento de los artistas es un factor que hay que tomar muy en cuenta a nivel técnico, hay que ajustar muy bien la velocidad y la apertura de la cámara. Por lo regular trabajo con un lento luminoso, 50mm, me agrada porque puedo capturar las expresiones y gestos de los artistas, sin embargo, esto me da ciertas limitaciones para fotos más amplias. En esta ocasión, me llevé un 35mm, pero menos luminoso. También la parte emocional hace su juego, dado que la sala es pequeña y se me dificulta moverme para buscar mejores ángulos; por fortuna, en esta oportunidad pude escabullirme hacia un lado del escenario buscando composiciones distintas.
The lighting and the movement of the artists is a factor that has to be taken into account at a technical level, the speed and aperture of the camera have to be adjusted very well. I usually work with a slow luminous 50mm, I like it because I can capture the expressions and gestures of the artists, however, this gives me certain limitations for wider photos. On this occasion, I took a 35mm, but less bright. The emotional part also plays its part, since the room is small and it is difficult for me to move around to look for better angles; fortunately, this time I was able to sneak to one side of the stage looking for different compositions.
En la Sala del Grillo sucede algo particular, y es que para hacer fotos debes estar entre el público asistente, no hay otro lugar, esto también es parte de disfrutar la experiencia. Estar sentado al lado de otro, apasionado por el arte y la música es gratificante, la energía se contagia y aporta en conseguir buenas fotografías. Entre todo ello hay que ser rápido para captar esos momentos que desaparecen en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Narro estas líneas y pareciera que no disfruto ni el concierto ni las fotos, pero no es así, de tantas veces que he repetido esto, he aprendido a generar un equilibrio entre ambas cosas, incluso, disfrutar el concierto a través de la cámara me ayuda a conseguir muy buenas fotos.
In the Sala del Grillo something particular happens, and that is that to take pictures you must be among the audience, there is no other place, this is also part of enjoying the experience. Being seated next to others, passionate about art and music is gratifying, the energy is contagious and contributes to get good pictures. In between it all, you have to be quick to capture those moments that disappear in the blink of an eye. I narrate these lines and it seems that I enjoy neither the concert nor the photos, but it is not like that, from so many times that I have repeated this, I have learned to generate a balance between both things, even, enjoying the concert through the camera helps me to get very good photos.
Luego de todo, al día siguiente, revisar las fotos me llena de satisfacción por ver como he capturado grandes momentos, además que es un valor para los artistas, tener fotografías, bien sea, para su registro de presentación como para uso promocional de la banda. Editar las fotos me hace recordar la música y lo vivido en la Sala del Grillo. Sin duda la fotografía es increíble, se transporta y te hace vivir los momentos mágicos capturados a través de la cámara.
After all, the next day, reviewing the photos fills me with satisfaction to see how I have captured great moments, plus it is a value for artists to have photographs, either for their presentation record or for promotional use of the band. Editing the photos makes me remember the music and the experience at the Sala del Grillo. Undoubtedly photography is incredible, it transports you and makes you live the magical moments captured through the camera.
Más que ir a un concierto, es ser parte de lo vivido, una experiencia que se ha inmortalizado con el lente para luego compartirlo con otros. En esta oportunidad he capturado la expresión artística de Maiz Pinta´o, una agrupación de hermanos que interpretan sus propias composiciones al estilo de la música colombiana clásica. Me siento afortunado de haber tenido la oportunidad de que la Sala del Grillo de la corporación Cultural Atabanza me abriera las puertas nuevamente.
