The first album that I bought at that time was 'Tea For The Tillerman' by Cat Stevens. Don't Mess Around With Jim' was the second album. It was a great piece of music, including 'Time In A Bottle'. By the way, he wrote that song for his wife, who had just told him that she was pregnant.
