SWEAT, SPACE AND SIMPLICITY

in The MINIMALIST2 months ago

Now that I think about it again, my mum! Yes, she is the one I got most of these inbuilt minimalist lifestyle from. When I saw this weeks topic, she was the first person that came to my mind because this would be something she will have a lot to talk about.

Early this year, I had plans of taking my homework outs seriously and for the first three months everything was going as planned but things took a different route when I gained admission into the university. Well, for what it was worth, those first three months felt really great because I was really proud of myself seeing how I could be consistent with my workouts for over 90 days.

I started the year off well and that encouraged me to keep going even on days when I felt like it won’t hurt if I skipped a day. The workouts kept getting harder as the days go by although simpler to execute because my body was already adjusting to it. I was required to make use of a mat for most of them but sadly I couldn’t get one for myself. But during the second month of my routine, my siblings and I visited my mom and when she saw how dedicated I was to my workout, she bought a mat and that even encouraged my sister to join us in the daily workout.

The good thing was, the mat was foldable so it didn’t really occupy too much space. Once we were done, we will just fold it back and keep it at a corner of the room. Besides the mat, I actually had need for a dumbbell but there was no way I could get that at that point because I needed money for other things, I mean I still do, so that was a no no. Not having a mat didn’t stop my workout and same goes for the dumbbell. It didn’t change much because I still got the results I wanted and to be honest, I felt really great about myself during those times.

I mean I felt fit, healthier and even prettier, hehe. I was more confident about myself then (I still am though) and I really miss those times. I do have plans of resuming my home workouts but that will be after I have completely settled down at school. As for the things I need for my workout, well, I do know how to keep things where they fit so I don’t think it will cause a clutter in anyway even if I had most of the things I need for my workout. I just have to make sure I fix them where they need to be. And most especially, I believe they will serve as motivation for me to keep up with my home workout routines.

I will only start seeing them as clutters when I no longer have need for them. But for the main time, I make do of what I have and that is just the app on my phone for directions on how to carry out those workouts right. Besides that, I don’t have anything cluttering up my space. Hopefully one day I’d get some necessary workout tools but for now, I’m going really minimal but effective and efficient, hehe.

The goal is to keep my blood flowing just right, my muscles in good shape, and my heart in the right condition. It worked really well for me back then and I’m definitely going to start again when I get the opportunity which I know I have to create myself, hehe.

That’s all, I do hope you enjoy my #kiss. Thanks for stopping by 😘.

That's the great charm of home workouts, I think! You can always improvise - I used water bottles and heavy books as "weights" for years before I got actual dumbbells. Good luck with resuming your workouts soon, it really sounds like they did a world of good. Good luck settling in with school and everything as well :)

Yes! Water bottles will actually do the job! Thank you so much for mentioning that, I was already thinking of what could substitute for dumbbells.

For me home workouts are the best, do your little consistent exercises even without others knowing but tada! The results just shows them, hehehe.

I guess this is why building with a community is good, I’ve actually been relaxed about restarting my workouts but now I’m reminded about it so hopefully I’d start sooner than I thought.

Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate your comment 😘

The trickiest part is getting back into it on the first day - after that, you settle into a routine quite easily (as you yourself saw in the past). So good luck with that!

You’re right, I’m sure once I’ve started it will get easier from there 😊.

Thanks for enjoying my 💋 🥰

This is pretty nice, you should probably hurry and resume back so you could send me tips on what to buy and videos to watch.. ☺️❤️

Hehe, I will my love. Just try and be reminding me about it just in case I forget 🤭

El ejercicio siempre es relajante yo tengo que volver a comenzar estoy muy sedentario, saludos

No te preocupes, todos pasamos por momentos sedentarios. Lo importante es que estás dispuesto a cambiar."

First of all, congratulations on getting your admission dear🤗🤗.

Your mom getting a mat for you just made me realize that when we set our mind to accomplish something, the universe has a way of helping us out. If you weren't so serious anout it, your mom wouldn't have bothered to contribute.

Well done!

Thank you dear 🤭

Yes yes yes! You are totally right thinking that way, hehe.

Thank you for your input dear ❤️

I've always been a fan of building your strength with your own weight rather than dumbells and barbells. You look so fit I'm jealous

It’s actually a great idea as it saves costs and still gives almost the same results.

Thank you for stopping by, you don’t have to be jealous of me, mine is without hard work 😅
