September 2016 after a car accident I was involved in was the first time I had my clothes washed by another adult since I became one. Prior to then, I had committed myself to washing my clothes by myself and I cannot remember giving my clothes to the laundry man. Gradually, over time, what started as a habit soon became a hobby or perhaps an obsession.

I know that everyone washes, but as a man, my attitude towards washing clothes has escalated to a higher level. First, I realized my habit was becoming a compulsion when I opted to wash, even though I had used it for a few hours. It has become automatic to wash whatever clothes I wear for a particular day on the same day. Piling up dirty clothes became irritating, and the maximum period I stay without washing is 48 hours. The washing habit is equally followed by the pressing of clothes. Once my clothes are dried, my next assignment is to get them ironed. This means I would have clothes to wear for about three weeks if I chose not to wash.
Beyond the propulsion to wash, I have helped my mom wash her clothes and, presently, still wash for my brother. My younger sister occasionally, when she is busy, could cajole me or plead with me to help her wash some of her clothes, to which I do oblige. The people that have come close to me have equally noticed how much I love washing. My washing has no specific period, but oftentimes, when I return from work in the evenings, I do that as my next routine. It is with esse abd gladness that I get my clothes washed, which I do even when the hour is late or the following morning. With this attitude of mine, my clothes are usually a pair or two to wash. For my clothes, I hardly wash more than two or three pairs. But when it involves my relatives (parents or siblings), they could be much larger, but this does not scare me in any way.

Buying things in bulk has been my minimalist approach to life, as they are usually cheaper and last longer. I usually do my food shopping every 3 months, or when I am low on stock, I try to buy things that will last me for some months, except for perishable items. My toiletries, detergents, and soaps are not excluded from bulk buying, which saves me from the stress of going to nearby stores every now and then.

The unfortunate recent economic downturn hit me differently, making me act with frugality and cut costs of things. These days, I take more public transportation to work and for other engagements that require mobility. My toiletries are almost exhausted, and with the need to be cautious of expenditures, I have had to compromise my hobby of everyday washing to the point of waiting for about three days with the aim of using fewer resources to get similar results. My preference has always been detergents, enjoying the foam and scent that come with the flavors, but I have had to employ bar soaps for thick or plenty of clothes, which is more economical, even though my consciousness is not too happy resulting from it.

My hobby of washing every day has been reviewed, which has helped me appreciate the allowance or flexibility to use fewer resources to meet an eventual result, even though with different timing.
This is my first participation in this community and I hope I got my little input right.
Thank you for reading. I would love to have your comments and contributions.
I share the same hobby of not having dirty clothes at home and ironing everything. I think it's obsessive in me. I have tried to make a weekly calendar to save detergent, take advantage of the washing machine load, and make more efficient use of electricity when washing and ironing. Thanks for sharing this!
I'm glad we have same line of thoughts. Keeping dirty clothes is a no-no for me also
I agree!
Here I'm thinking I'm the only one obsessed with washing my clothes every single day !lol. I love washing my clothes after single wear and preferably after the end of my daily activities.
This has helped me keep clean and my belongings very organized. !luv

It is a great habit to maintain
Wow! It sounds like you have domestication down pat. 🙌
Some might call this an obsession, but for me, it works for you and keeps you happy so why not?
Buying in bulb has its advantages as long as you don't create clutter.

I enjoyed it 😉 Thanks for your #KISS

Thank you so much, I'm glad you found my content appealing. Buying in bulk is most often cheaper compared to nearby stores that would have inflated prices
