This told me that a storm was coming.

And so I went into the garden to watch the show.

Difficult to read the signs in the sky lately, as we have weird weather.

One would think that a lot of water would make the farmers very happy, but in some cases, it is a different story. Too much water can drown the crops and create serious losses. The strong winds here are also mischievous as they can change direction at any time and one moment we have a nice blue sky, and the next moment the sky is covered by clouds. I will show you this occurrence below. After suffering some severe droughts, the shoe is now on the other foot as they have too much water. We think it might have to do with what they call global warming, and as we are very close to the Atlantic Ocean, the same ocean is known as very tricky weather wise.

The wind was ripping the clouds apart.

And this below was the last of the blue skies that we have seen for the day.

Look what happened now.

I didn't even see the sun halo, as normally I get the halos, but my camera saw the halo, or a section of the halo, as I was concentrating on the sun.

Can you see the wind at work in the clouds?

No chance of a sunset, as the sky only cleared by the next morning.

Now the strange thing was that we only had a few drops of rain. Obviously, the storm was on its way over the mountains towards the inland areas, and as we have a big country, we prayed that it would rain in some dry areas.
All our feeder dams are full, due to the wet winter that we had, but South Africa is known as a water scarce country, and some places up country are really struggling with their fresh drinking water situation. It is a long story that can wait for another post. But let me just say here, that water restrictions were instituted in those areas. When we arrived in the Cape six and a half years ago, the area was experiencing a very bad drought, so much so that they feared that the water would run out and they called it the last drop day. But rapidly the situation changed, and they are saying that we have never had the tons of falling water that we have now.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

A clear explanation of how the clouds gather up when it's about to rain, that first change can predict if it will rain or not

Thanks and yes, the weather is very tricky here lately. !LOL

I thought it would have been all chilly with snow over there by now. Well as tricky as it is we must blend with it

No, it is now summer here in the southern hemisphere. Always to blend in with the seasons. !LOL

Scary different it is between neighbouring countries in a continent.
We just began the harmattan season over here so rainfall has completely diminished. Sun shines bright and the heat is phenomenal.

Yet your dams are full and clouds are putting ona show...

Oh yes, different climates all over. So, I presume that you are also in a winter rainfall area.?
We suffer severe drops in temperatures day after day. One day hot under the African sun, and the next day cold.

Yep, some real blessings with the dams and the clouds.

Our weather has been quite fickle these past few years.

Normally it's a winter sunny dry kind of situation.

The heavy rains are July stuffs...

Bit last two years had us carrying umbrellas in December.

Thankfully it seems we're back to normal this year.

The weather is fickle all over the world, and we even had some tornados, which is very rare here.
Okay, so you are not in a winter rainy season.
Strange weather also that guys are having, but thankfully thus far you are back to normal.
