Since I bought a camera, today was the first time my wife asked me to take her photo (before that, I was just trying to persuade her 😂).
We chose several locations, but today I'll tell you about one of them - a small park with a lake in the center of Pattaya called Lala Lake.
When I arrived, I immediately realized that there was catastrophically little light: the sky was covered with clouds, and there was a slight haze in the air. An idea immediately popped into my head - I would shoot in black and white. The colors would still be faded, and then I would have to "pull" them out in Lightroom, losing the naturalness that is so important to me.
From the very beginning of the shoot, we began to argue about which angle to choose and in what pose to take the photo. In the end, we decided to take a few shots the way she wanted, and a few according to my idea.
For some reason, she chose a suit for the shoot that looked more like pajamas 😅, but I didn’t argue — it was her image, her idea, and I decided to support her choice.
For me, this was not just a photo shoot, but also an opportunity to experiment with camera settings and different angles. I wanted to understand which parameters are best suited for such difficult lighting conditions.
In the end, 90% of the shots were unsuccessful — but this is normal for a beginner photographer! The main thing is experience.
From all the shots, we chose one photo that we both liked. It will become the final shot of this post.
Thank you in advance for your attention, support, votes and comments! 📷✨
All the photos were taken in Thailand 🇹🇭 - the city of Pattaya! 📷
I write my texts myself, correct mistakes and translate via ChatGPT (which is not a violation on Hive)!
Thank you for sharing these moments with me! Until new stories and new holidays!
All photos were taken by me personally - I am a beginner photographer, so I ask professionals not to judge strictly.

I think your shots are excellent, and as you mentioned, 90% of shots are unsuccessful, maybe for your wife's observation. Girls scrutinize so perfectly that it makes you tired of taking so many clicks. I prefer mobile photography in most cases, and still, I am confused about which direction I should go with the Mobile with great cameras or buy a camera, though the cost will be very high for a handy DSLR! And great shots need great effort, you will learn very fast, don't worry. I am still naive in the area!
A good phone is better for Hive - unless you are going to do photography professionally or as a hobby. In addition to the high price of a camera, you will also need different lenses, and they sometimes cost more than the camera. You will also have to process the photos and reduce their size, etc. This takes much more time than making a post with photos from a phone (but once you learn how, you will be able to take photos that you will never be able to take on any phone)

That is case, but may be still I have not enough time to do the all the things and also to cover up all the cost! That's why I am planning to buy a phone in mid of the year as my old phone is around 5 years old, and I often struggle to get some good photos in some difficult conditions. Thanks for your informative suggestion.

I've looked into the matter and the iPhone 14 Pro is a great option (but a bit pricey), perhaps the 13 won't be much worse.
I was thinking about the upcoming Vivo X200 ultra; their camera is great with a very convincing price, especially in China.
I haven't heard of such a phone (I'll look into it now) - but the other day someone recommended the 14pro to me as the best option.
Yeah, Iphones have the top camera, and in terms of video they are the best. They produce excellent images and very long lasting than any other devices. You can watch some camera comparison on YouTube that will let you know some cheaper options, if you are not a apple user, then it could be beneficial. I don't use apple so I normally check many android phones before I buy.
I just read it - and now I want it too )))) They say that sales will start in April - and what is its cost?
I will let you know about the price, currently the Vivo X200 pro is 6200 RMB with 1T+16GB RAM, and around 5100 RMB with 12GB+256GB, normally ultra model will be around 1000 rmb more in my observation. So, the high end of the ultra series may be around 900-1000 USD and lower end may be around 750-850 USD I guess.
Your wife is very beautiful! And she is also very photogenic, almost all angles are good. Some photos seem to be not very successful technically because of bad lighting, but if the photo session is repeated at a different time, the result will be excellent, as I believe!
Thanks for the advice - I know that you have been doing photography for a long time and understand it much more than I do.
Always happy to hear your comments!
We were at 2 locations today - tomorrow I will post a photo from the second place (I will have to try and make the color and contrast acceptable)

You'll get used to that, and realise it's completely normal too! Even for professional shoots, you may take 50 photographs but only hand over 5 or 6 in the end. The whole point is to capture as many as you can so that you do end up with a nice handful that really shine and have solid editing potential.
Thank you for your comments, they are very important!

Beautiful photos and the subject too, congratulations, the second one with the bike is my favorite!
Thank you - you see how differently we see beauty)) and I didn't like the pose, I wanted her to sit on a bike.
By the way, I would like to say for everyone that I also take criticism normally (after all, this is the only way to understand where you make mistakes)
I'm not a photographer, so for me just respecting the quarter rule already makes the photos well taken, and in this case it was always respected! But if you want a slightly nastier comment we can ask @Ciuoto XD
I can't call myself a photographer either )) I've heard about the rule of thirds but I don't know the rule of quarters - I still need to learn.
Who is this guy and why will his comment be caustic? )) I looked - he hasn't published for a long time (is he a good photographer?)
I counted the vertices of the points in the center which are 4, but it is correct to say rule of thirds as you said!
Yes, he's a friend of mine who takes some really nice shots, I've never honestly understood why he doesn't share them here on Hive, it could be a good excuse to get him started
If he will not only criticize but also suggest how it should be better, then I will be only happy about it))
He has not published for almost a year - perhaps he left Hive
ahahahaha he's very kind, no no he hasn't abandoned hive, he's part of the Discovery team, he's just very busy in real life
It's a beautiful photographic work! It's worth investing in these attempts for the perfect angle, among several you choose the one that you like the most.
)) The main thing is to choose correctly - as it turns out, I don't always choose the best of what I shoot ) Everything that I like, my wife doesn't like and vice versa ))

Unsuccessful? These photos? Oh no, they're wonderful! I love how you took these photos. The angle and the black and white effect are cool.
