Yes, a millionaire! Isn't it exciting? A Rising Star Millionaire, of course... oh, how nice it would be to have a real million, but, either money will come or it won't. I can only invest and hope for good things. (I don't think a million is in the cards, but maybe a more modest fortune???)
However, I am currently making about 120 Hive per month with Rising Star, which I find pretty exciting even if it's a far cry from a million...
My Rising Star Origin Story
I started playing Rising Star around mid-October. When I began, I wondered about it a little. There's not a lot to the game play, really. However, I played a couple of "missions" -- you can't do much at first -- and my level rose and I earned a few starbits.
So, then I bought some cards, which are all NFTs. Pro Tip: to buy the cards, your Starbits need to be in your hive engine wallet. That messed me up a little at first. I tried music promotion, which is a whole other part of the game, and it is fun, but, for me, it did not pay off. However, maybe I didn't try it long enough.
I bought cards in two ways:
12 packs (of 3) -- which is 36 cards at a time. This is purchased with 100,000 Starbits, which is currently about 32 Hive, but it fluctuates.
Individual cards from the market that were a good deal or that were power up cards (such as pizza) so I could play longer.
The cards I bought helped me to gradually earn about 3000 Starbits per day with regular game play. I think I spent about $150 USD on cards. I did not keep rigorous track. The nice thing about progressing is that later missions last longer with a potentially bigger payout. The down side to longer missions is that you get approximately the same XP per percentage energy used, whether the energy was spread out over a 5 hour mission or a 2 hour mission. So, which missions to do depend on your goal -- is it to maximize your XP or the Starbits earnings?
My goal was to reach level 50, obtain one million Starbits, get the Starbits millionaire card, and profit! Why? Because then, you can go on the millionaire mission every day and get 10,000 Starbits during the half hour mission. I achieved my goal, but it took some effort.
Reaching Level 50
Having started in October, through diligent daily game play, I reached level 50 in December. I purchased several card packs and additional cards along the way. Several people have suggested that the more cards you have, especially the more unique cards, the more Starbits you will earn. I have not seen a linear relationship, but I have seen earnings increase with more cards.
Obtaining One Million Starbits
It is so hard not to spend them as you win them! It is tempting to buy cards because, after all, they are NFTs. Many of them are limited edition and might get discontinued (many have since I started) and I suspect the value will go up over time.
Nevertheless, I saved up my Starbits the best I could. Also, whenever Starbits dipped, I bought some. Finally, around a week or two before I reached level 50, I had a million Starbits. I wish they were dollars! Ha ha. A million Starbits is roughly $300 USD, depending on the phase of the moon.
The Millionaire Card
This is important: do NOT purchase the millionaire card. They warn you about that in the game also, but some unscrupulous people sell them. When you qualify, you go on the Discord server, and they will issue you the millionaire card at no charge.
Repeat: Do NOT PURCHASE the millionaire card. When you qualify, they will give it to you for free when you ask.
I wish there was a "request millionaire" button because I am not a huge Discord fan. That being said, I have needed support three times on Rising Star, and, each time, I found the support to be responsive, helpful, and polite. I think it is challenging because they are on England time while people play 24 hours a day, but they still make it work somehow. Some people get impatient, but, trust me -- if you are patient and go read a book or something, they will attend to your request. It's like magic.
Profit!
Shortly after earning my millionaire card, I injured my knee and I couldn't reach my laptop, ironically. Ironically because it should be easy since it is a laptop, but it wasn't. I decided that my sanity was more important than playing Rising Star.
However, once my knee got better, I was back at it. With the cards I have now, if I play most of the day (5 hour missions do not require much from me -- start...), I make about 3500 - 4000 Starbits on average. Then, I make 10,000 from that lovely little half hour millionaire mission.
That is 13500 per day, which is about 400,000 Starbits per month. If I don't spend them (discipline!!!) then I can sell them. This month, in the past day, I sold my "spare" Starbits because they seem to be doing well. (Hive fluctuates and Starbits fluctuate, so I need a spreadsheet or pen and paper to calculate exactly whether Starbits have risen vs Hive only or vs the US dollar also.) I am too lazy to do the calculation. I have an intuitive feeling that the price is higher than I have seen it in a few weeks.
At current prices (as I write this), that is about 120 Hive per month. I think that's pretty good for playing a game that requires very little of me, buying about $150 USD worth of cards, and locking $300 USD in Starbits for the moment. It is definitely one of the better investment moves I have made.
Conclusion
This is not the most exciting game, and it is still in beta, so there are occasional glitches. However, the support for the game is solid. They add interesting game play elements periodically, which I ignore because I just want to maximize profit (but... who knows? Maybe those are profitable avenues?)
In addition to regular game play, the game NFTs are highly collectable and I believe/hope they will go up in value.
Much Love,
Harlow
P.S. My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine. I cannot imagine the horror. I know there is war and suffering in other regions of the world too, even when it is not front page news. When I have a hot shower and enjoy the feeling of the water on my skin, I take an extra moment to drink it in because I know that there are so many people for whom this seemingly simple pleasure has become a luxury as I read about people in Ukraine, for example, having to shower in icy water. I have had an unheated shower in a tropical country, but it is not ice cold. As a Canadian, I can appreciate how extremely uncomfortable, almost to the point of pain, having to shower in ice water would be. I try to always keep Ukraine in my heart, but when I see stocked shelves at the store, when I feel safe, when I shower, I try to take an extra moment to remind myself not to take these things for granted.
P.P.S. I usually don't like to include my referral link for things, but, just in case I talked you into trying it out, and you want it, here is my link. Please don't feel obligated to use it, of course. https://www.risingstargame.com?referrer=harlowjourney

Hello dear, sorry I didn't reply according to your post because I don't know which column to talk anymore if I'm not here.
I was surprised by the delivery of this very big hive for me, I was playing Ecency from late September 2021. It took me a few months to get that much. I was about to ask did you send hive to someone wrong? but i saw your words here i realized this is for me. Honestly dear I can't say anything but grateful and grateful. May your sustenance always increase dear. I intend to withdraw this fund because I have $3.5 left in my wallet.
Last night I was driven home by a colleague of mine who had a car because I couldn't work because of my stomach and it hurt very much. my co-workers bought me cold medicine and gave me hot tea and bought bread for me. when I arrived at the boarding house I was greeted by my boarding house mother and my friend entrusted me to the boarding house mother to be treated. I'm off today dear because my boss allowed me not to work first. but tomorrow I will go back to work. I plan to withdraw the money you gave me to buy gasoline because my motorcycle's gasoline runs out, then use the money to buy food for my coworkers. I happen to have an orphaned child so I also intend to buy a chiken for my friend's son. you are very right sent by God to help me I don't know how to repay you. oh yes dear I also intend to transfer $ 3.5 to someone who introduced me to this diecency because I have never given him anything to just buy coffee for him. and the rest to pay off my debt on shopeepay because last month I bought clothes for my nephew who was being circumcised. what a great blessing. good health always good people.
Make sure to keep some for yourself also to keep yourself well. That was my intention. ❤
There is no need for gratitude, but you are welcome.

This is still more than my monthly pension-like income for my multiple disabilities, which is approximately $250 USD per month, depending on the exchange rate between the Hungarian Forint (HUF) and the USD.
So you are already wealthy in my eyes. To many people, this is just/only a pocket money.
I live in Hungary (neighbor to Ukraine), but me neither. I heard that more than 200 000 refugees came from Ukraine to my country, and the locals are co-operating to help them.
I wish all of them strength, good health and all the best.
Greetings and much love from Hungary.
It's a lot of money for me too. However, it's a far cry from a million dollars! It is an amount that I consider an investment, and that I consider a return (albeit not completely passive) of about 120 Hive per month to be quite exceptional! It's as much as I have made from writing on Hive some months.
That's why I wrote about it. I don't give financial advice, but I had not seen numbers behind it before I started playing.
I do not even want to become a millionaire. You do not need a million to be happy, nor to live a normal, proper life. This is all I would like to achieve. A normal, proper life. But nowadays I am struggling and suffering under the local minimum wage. I am also trying to build active and passive income on the Hive blockchain, so hopefully my situation will improve in the future. And I am planning to buy and live in an SUV to avoid having to pay the high rent and the also high regular monthly bills. Hopefully I will earn enough money before the next winter (in the next eight or nine months) to be able to do this. With an SUV, I would be able to live on my pension-like income, and I would also be able to save money in real life.
