Hiding the problems does not make them go away. Abusers reduce our rewards.

IRL every dollar you spend reduces your neighbor's spending power.

Upvoting is not THEFT.

In the same way, when I make a large purchase, I am not stealing from my neighbors, even though I am reducing the value of their savings.

I have nothing against people earning unless they are really selfish. That is why we have downvotes. We may make some enemies, but on balance it is beneficial. IMHO

Preserving the autonomy and free speech of all individual accounts should be paramount.

Any system that relies on human enforcement is a fundamentally flawed system.

Any system that ignores human selfishness is a fundamentally flawed system.

Or, perhaps consider capping the max payout at $20.00 so the reward pool benefits the small fish at the expense of the big fish, insuring a broader distribution.

Or, perhaps consider distributing the reward pool directly to each stake holder's account based purely on their stake and replace the "upvote" button with a quick and easy "delegate 1 hive" button and a quick and easy "tip 1 hive" button on each post (that doesn't expire after 7 days).

Put it to the witnesses with a proposal. I can't change the rules and so work with what we have.

I'm just asking your opinion on these.

I'm attempting to build some general consensus with reasonable people like yourself.

I don't consider the current system so terrible. Anything we have can be abused. I would prefer it if some of the big accounts spread their votes around a bit more.

Neglecting to provide a "delegation" button on any of the front-ends is a major missed opportunity.

Once you understand it, Hive delegation is such a perfect system, way better than pa.treon which has gained ridiculous and nearly inexplicable popularity.

We have a much better system here, and we aren't even using it.

Peakd does delegation, including showing what people have. I just used it.
