RE: Off Grid Solar Powered Washing Machine

in #homesteading7 years ago (edited)

Hello Troy :)

I believe in solar power and I think it will be the future of energy (or thorium nuclear plants - I recommend YT on this subject) , or there will be no future, if we continue to use all, what heavy industry produces (electricity, packaging, multiple other things).

Off-grid houses are one of the first and most important steps to energy independence of people from the system.

Thank you for showing this to us. You made it, other can too.

Much appreciated - Troy.

Kind regards :)

Peter.

PS: I took this opportunity and resteemed this very educational and ecological post.

Thank you very much.

I think that the power grid is over taxed and getting old. It is unstable and will most likely crash one day.

We get large scale power outages from time to time.

I think that the more solar powered homes we have, the better the power grid will be for the rest.

Isn't troy special, he has a couple of battery flashlights so he has lied and claimed to be 95% off grid while wasting grid power in the old trailer all summer with old energy guzzling appliances. He did change out most of the bulbs for LEDs as most people have done and didn't make a big deal out of it. His tiny little solar setup is like a kids experiment but nothing to power an entire house. Watch one of his slave/wife's cooking videos and see how truly off grid they live. Not off grid by any stretch of the imagination. His videos prove it.

Oh. Isnt that interesting.

Do you have any facts to back up your claim?

Or are you just slandering me, which is criminal.

@thediyworld, It's a good thing you have that muzzle-loader gun for when the grid goes down.

What do you consider a "large scale power outage" to be?
Anything to inconvenience you from sitting on the couch at home?

Well, as I have shown in my videos, I sometimes dont even notice a power outage.

That is so true - Troy.

If only Tesla would succeed at his times, we might have free energy all around the Earth.
Pity, that greed too over.

Seeing more off-grid houses brings hope for the future without grid electricity.

I have one nice energy related idea too, but I will hold it to myself for a bit longer.

Have a nice power intake - Troy, and all the best.

Peter.

PS: I have seeing your YT last video, where you mentioned about Steemit (I don't know how others on your YT, but I believe, that it is good to mention about Steemit more often) - that is how I got here - and thank you for this again.

Peace :)

Peter yours is a good point, I would only add especially passive solar at this point. Concern for chemicals used in solar panel construction and the ultimate cost of solar electricity generation gives me some heartburn at this time, but nothing is perfect and all technologies have to start somewhere. When you look at the small picture solar photovoltaic energy is free. Stand back and look at the larger picture and the costliness comes into clearer view. I know this is a knit picky point of view. Of course, in the absence of a power system even 50-60 cents per kilowatt hour is cheap.

You are right and I agree, that passive solar is way better.

Looking at a bigger picture is what I always do, always looking at fundamentals, but of insufficiency of passive solar power posts, I comment, what is around.

There are lots of nice ideas on energy saving and home energy "creation" (by using some passive solar), but I didn't have time to look for these here yet.
If you have any articles here on passive, I would read them.

Maybe I will create few friendly power posts, I even have few great ideas on solar related energy uses, but it is my industrial trade secret, which I will reveal on some kick-starter (crowd founder), when I am ready, maybe after getting patents.
