Hello fellow Steemians this is the first Steemisode of The Ink Pot, a show where you come to know what is going on in the minds of your favourite authors and poets.
Our guest for this is @dreemit, a fantastic writer and a super Mom.
Ogochukwu: Can you tell us your name, where you are from, and how you came to know about Steemit?
Dreemit: Hello awesome steemit community, this is Linnet, aka @dreemit, typing to you from the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York! My husband discovered steemit while searching for a way to help a friend make money online, and instantly knew it was a perfect creative outlet for me. And it certainly is that, and so much more.
Ogochukwu : Wow that's nice, what are your thoughts about the recent post hard fork developments in Steemit and the new Steem Team Led By @andrarchy and @Zurvanic
Dreemit: I appreciate the longer payout periods in particular, however I am concerned about how the new formatting is affecting posts that we can no longer edit", as for the Steem Team, I’m not sure they could have found a better pair for marketing our beautiful platform. @andrarchy is a very enthusiastic, engaging, and dedicated member of the community, and so far has been exceptional at handling the daunting and time consuming task set before him. One example of what they’re doing would be the system they came up with called The Crowdsourced Marketing Protocol, which enables community members to create and submit marketing ideas to the community and the team for support. This is just the beginning, but I appreciate how they obviously consider all of us extended members of the team, valuable voices and resources in getting the word out.
Keep up the great work guys!
Ogochukwu: You are currently publishing your Book, REBORN here on Steemit, what is the Storyline about?
Dreemit: Reborn is actually the first of what I believe will be a five book series, for which I have the second completed (Renewal) and the third fully plotted and nearly half-written. I hadn’t actually decided on a series title before I began publishing it here, but with the help of some amazing steemit friends, I believe I have landed on: “The Allies of Old”, courtesy of the lovely @kiwideb (Thanks Deb!)
The allies of old are made up of those who once banded together to fight the common enemy of the Shadow Men (demon-like creatures). Humans, Vampires, Faerians, Lyncane (and more to be revealed) engaged in battles and ultimately war with them. But it has been many centuries since there was a real threat to the world, and in these modern times, most are oblivious to the danger lurking just beyond their perception.
Signs are beginning to appear that allude to this threat rising in power once more.
With the alliances largely broken and those still fighting the fight few and far between, mankind is on the precipice of a grave danger that could threaten their existence. And so it is of dire need for the allies to gather together once more.
.Ancient prophesies will soon begin to surface, of a unifying force initiated by the unlikeliest of beings….
And that is a very brief summary of the overall picture, with Reborn setting the stage. You can start the journey here:
Ogochukwu: Does writing energise or exhaust you?
Dreemit: Energizes, absolutely.
Ogochukwu: Do you believe in writers block?
Dreemit: I have experienced it, so yes, though there are many techniques for overcoming the issue. (For me spending a full day out in nature is by far the most effective)
Ogochukwu: Do you think that someone could be a writer if they don't feel emotions strongly?
Dreemit: While there certainly are genres of writing that might not require as much passion as others, I would say for novels it would be very difficult to captivate an audience if one were not extremely emotionally invested in the characters and the story.
Ogochukwu: What is one author you are friends with on Steemit that has helped you become a better writer?
Dreemit: There are many wonderful authors on steemit whom I consider myself fortunate to call friends, but the one who has made the greatest impact on my writing is @jedau. From the moment we met he has been a constant source of not only support but also invaluable insights and suggestions. His comments often add depth and context to my material and he’s also not afraid to offer pointers that allow me to improve. He’s currently publishing his own novel on the platform, an extraordinary piece of fiction that I highly recommend. You can find his latest chapter here
The Conclusion of this awesome Interview would be posted on thursday

Thanks for reading have a nice day, don't forget to comment below.
Thanks to @dreemit for the mention, but I need to set the record straight :-) I can't take credit for the name of the series - it was right there in the plot synopsis, I merely pointed it out.
Don't sell yourself short, my friend! It was right there, but you were the one who pointed it out when nobody else did :D You provide such helpful insights that are a real boon to any story you comment on :D
Thanks :-) Just making sure that the credit is shared between us.
I agree with @jedau, it might have been in there, but I didn't recognize it as a title until you said it :)
Thanks for the mention, my great friend @dreemit! I merely try to support people who deserve it. You're one of the friendliest people on here, and you definitely deserve all the success you're getting :D I'm just happy that I've made that kind of impact.
What you do for me and others concerning this is invaluable. Of course I appreciate each and every comment I receive, but you really put time and thought into what you say, and really is extremely helpful my lovely friend!
Oh for sure! I give my 100% to everything I do, and that includes comments ;)
Excellent interview and insight into a great author @dreemit !! I agree about the edit button, and I hope they bring back the ability to edit older posts. I change the footer to include a link to the most recent chapter of my stories, but sometimes I can't upload the next one for a few weeks!
Thanks @michaeladamparis! Do you have a new chapter up now? Oh actually, you just reminded me that I might already have one to catch up on. I've had a hectic couple of weeks, but it should be calming down now.
I know, it's really tough without that ability, I'm not sure if they can change it or not, but if it is a possibility it would be great.
I hope I can start posting more often... I will have a little more time this summer to write. Just over halfway done... then onto some poems!
Sounds great Michael, you definitely have a gift :)
Wow, a two part interview, what a great way to give exposure to both the author and the magazine! Thank you @ogochukwu for the kind description and the time you invested :)
It's nice to get a chance to hear more insight into Reborn, I'm seeing that world more clearly when I read these kinds of overviews of that story. Looking forward to part 2 of this interview.
Thanks Paul! Definitely Reborn is the character building book of the series more than anything. I did a lot more plot planning for the second book and I've really been working on the bigger picture with this third book as I envision the ultimate conclusion by book five :)
Thank you sir for reading and your kind words
Thanks for gracing the Literature trail with your presence this week. It is nice having you on the Trail
It's nice to be on it ;)
