I wanted to hold a paper; I really did. But she insisted I rub her head instead.
Hi Steemians! Josiah here, all the way from Nigeria.
But before I start I want you all to meet Phoenix (I know right?), my German Shepherd with whom I do everything (well, almost everything).
{Phoenix barks 'Hi, all!'}
So, I'm 22 years old and live in Lagos, Nigeria; I'm an IT Support Engineer by profession and a nerd by hobby -- which loosely translates to code and anything written by Malcolm Gladwell.
I'm excited to be part of Steem and look forward to making meaningful relationships here.
I wanted to start a blog recently but a friend advised against making a conventional one. He advised that with Steemit, I could kill two birds with one stone: have a blog and simultaneously make Steem.
I intend to write to write about my life so far and my experiences, with the aim of exposing them through the eyes of a middle-class worker in a developing country. I’m writing to keep sane really, as life’s undulations sometimes drive me towards insanity. So to me, writing is liberating. Almost like the way music is NF‘s go-to place (his Therapy) when life is behaving erratically.
I turned 22 some months ago, and when I reflected on the past year and how I spent it, I felt pathetic. I analyzed key areas of my life and graded my growth on a scale of one to ten with ten being the highest. The key areas being self, career, relationship and family, and spiritual. Sadly, the highest score across all areas was 3 out of 10. Yes, that bad. So it saddened me that at 22 I was still as clueless as General Gavin on the general issues of life. This blog is sort of an avenue to remedy that.
With that being said, I’ll share my thoughts here, mainly for liberation from the temporal insanity my brain tends to drift into, and secondarily for advice from you readers on how to eventually get to the point where content and stability are internalized. I’ll be expounding quite randomly on the facets mentioned above, as life, as vague as the word is, centres around all four.
Comment if you feel, share if you like. All I really want is your advice. I’m a big fan of learning from people.
