Hi everyone! My name is Jamil. I am 24 years old. I live in Kazan (Russia).
In Russia we have an interesting organization. It is called Russian Student Brigade. They organize students in work collectives for working at industrial and agricultural facilities.
A bit of history. The organization started its activities in the Soviet Union in 1959. Then there was a highly developed spirit of patriotism so this movement was all-encompassing and every student was in the ranks of work collectives. It lasted until 1991 and almost completely disappeared due to the collapse of the USSR. However, in 2003 in the city of Yekaterinburg begins global advocacy of work collectives and in 2004 are beginning to open local branches through the country.
The most advanced units - construction brigades. Many people, not only students go to the north to build houses, stations and many other objects. Most Olympic and other sporting objects are built by students. The whole city of Naberezhnye Chelny and the KAMAZ factory was built by students.
I was in one of these departments, with my student friends and girlfriend. When we come RSB open a new direction - conductor on long distance train (is quite difficult to say that on English. That’s means that train goes more than 500 km). without thinking twice, we go to "conquer the railway". In total, I traveled about 600,000 km by railways. Our first major test was the Moscow-Murmansk direction. The distance between the cities is almost 2000 km. 4-day journey by train. Very strange passengers, but also very entertaining stories. Here is one of them.
How goes conductors passage in train 212 Moscow-Murmansk.
Early morning. Everyone is asleep. With whistling and shouts coming laundryman, shouting in the corridor, looking for invoices that have already picked up one of them. After some time, come repairmen. Knocking the species, they fall down and require you to log VU-8. Cleaners will come soon. It is necessary to go wash.
Cleaned you come back from the reserve. You go to the composition (lots of railway carriage) - but it is not in place. You find the composition somewhere on the outskirts of the station. Damn mechanics.
All go to the store. Azerbaijani nationality people start washing carriage - carries with yourself most valuable things.
You come to the Leningrad station with purchases. The train is already, or it fetches 1.5 minutes before landing. Collapses in composition, get a scolding from the head of the train, or some evil shrew-instructress.
Landing. 7 carries stormed the crowd. Tourists running somewhere. Not smelly, but it may already be drunk. At headquarters laughs onboard electrical mechanic. Spread e-ticket. Let’s see. "Moscow-Saint Petersburg, economy class, 38th, John Williams – without linens" ... It is Russia, damn Yankees, welcome to the Tver(city) economy class!
The train starts to move.
"Switch on air conditioning! ... Well, at least the ventilation? ... Windows open ???"
Tver. At one moment comes 10 people. Yes, where from are you all appear?!
"when we can quit for a walk?"
"how much we stand?"
"can we smoke?"
"why do we stand for so long, but now there is no stopping?"
"Have you got some beer?"
For an hour, the train stops in the boonies. Passengers are nervous. Many of them buy tea and something stronger
Peter. The crowd left, the crowd went.
Morning. Svir(another city)). On the landing are sleepy zombie conductors.
Petrozavodsk. The man fiercely offers to buy crossword puzzles and magazines "Maxim", "Playboy", "Winx" for kids and their parents. Talent!
For next day there are so small stations that you cannot understand what it is - station of brick shack, three pine and half-dead caretaker. Somewhere, in the distance, a dog barking. Of the 5, 6, 7 carries fly out about 30-40 tourists.
We drove Kandalaksha(city that is above polar circle). The sun never sets. Still want to sleep.
Murmansk. "Good-bye, good-bye"
The door closed behind the last passenger.
"Dirty pigs stained the whole carries, fuck! (
Morning. Murmansk. We go back to Moscow in the evening. But that is quite another story))
Some photos in Murmansk
I hope you enjoy my story!
