I remember that day well. 14th June last year whilst my wife and I were on holiday in Crete. The news station in the hotel room was BBC 24. Nothing other than further details concerning this horrific event played over and over again for the duration of the following days and every time, we both shook our head in disbelief.
We happen to live but a mile away from where this incident took place and regularly pass by a stretch of road revealing the devastation of that fateful day. This photo was take this every afternoon and shows that work is finally getting underway to repair and restore the building. I shudder to think of all those lives that perished in that blazing inferno. Worse still is if you read up on several documentations online suggesting that flammable materials were used in it's construction that are "now" considered a safety hazard. How could negligence like this take place, I ask you.
So, yes, in case you weren't aware of the tragic events that took place here in London on 14th June 2017, I urge you to check it out further. It was something that literally shock our nation to the core and will not definitely not be forgotten. Even after all this time, my heart goes out to the friends and family left behind, grieving over the untimely loss of their loved ones...
Wow cant believe its been that long already, its always fascinating to know where were other people during the incident I was also away, I remember making a post on it also.
Yeah man. It was a horrendous tragedy. Worst thing is nobody can even cover up the building to stop all the harsh reminders of that day.
That was a truly awful incident. I actually remember thinking about how odd timing is due to you being in Crete when it happened. It's good of you to post a reminder, most of the world moves on fairly quickly after a tragedy that doesn't directly affect them, while those who lost people are forever scarred.
I know, @dreemit! The rest of the trip, we couldn't help but think of the utter turmoil of those affected here in the UK. And yes, these events can lose their significance over time. But it still chills me every time I see it...
My heart goes out to them, ild check it out now
It was a horrifying event. Unforgettable and extremely upsetting.
very nice post @ezzy, it was a very tragic event, I do not know about the events that happened in London on June 14, 2017. I am very sad to hear it, and I also really understand how it feels to lose the people we love, it is very difficult for us. But whatever happens, we must be strong to face all that, because all that is in the fate of God. Thanks for sharing...
Very soothing words, @reynakarina. It affected so many people's lives and its damning aftermath is still being felt to this very day...
