Always in the right place at the Right Time: I want to run to you

Today I went to Lake Tomahawk. At first I was on my way to Owen Lake but I had the radio off so I could hear my inution and something made me drive past it, and go 5ish miles out of my way in the other direciton to go to Lake Tomahawk instead.

Once I arrived, my sneakers made the quick transition from gravel to sidewalk. Birds created a symphony of sound. I started to walk counter clockwise but changed direction because of people and their noisy babies or potential for noise. I came here for peace and quiet after all.

I meditated on all the different senses: first sight (colors, objects, animals, flowers etc) . Then sounds (birds, dog barks, the crunching of gravel under my shoes), and so on.

As I walked past the gorgeous and massive bed and breakfast house on the left, a small Australian Shepherd dog flashed her blue eyes at me as she jumped straight up in the air a few times from behind a short gate in the garden.

I walked to the bridge nearby and turned around to see the dog jump over the gate. She was loose and running super fast with no leash or collar. Suddenly Her owner stumbled over the gate and was understandably freaking out running and yelling “Josie!” and the fluffy dog ran up toward the road in a black and white blur. My eyes followed the blur. I saw here sneak behind the house behind the bridge. I ran to the lady and told her where the dog went. And then (imagining the dog coming to me) I knelt down with my arms wide open and playfully said,

“Come here doggy!” And I tried to whistle. My lips were too dry so I said, "Come here doggy" in a the most loving way I could.

Miraculously, the dog ran into my arms like a scene from one of those old movies and then she laid down in the dirt to get her furry belly petted as the lady ran over and said, “thank you so much!” She told me they just adopted her last week, that her collar had slipped off. I responded by telling her my favorite brand of dog harness. She agreed to get the dog a harness.

I was so happy I was able to help.

I walked back to my car, practically floating. I turned the radio on and the song “I want to run to you” was playing. I shit you not.
