RE: Manna Interview With The Founders

Really, it is?

That is what happens when I read the views of Commies such as Milton Friedman...

Also to have a political system, dont you need a political establishment like a government involved.

Please tell me how distribution of tokens is communism...

Sort:

TM4450, we agree on a lot....its just that on UBI we do not.

UBI coordinated via government where tax money is taken from one group and distributed to another group via the tax system (even via negative tax rates) is a tenant of Communism (or Socialism-light)...call it what you want, but its redistribution of wealth. Its government force...it will in the long run reduce freedom...and its a form of theft.

People are "entitled" to nothing. If one group of people are "entitled" to something, someone else has to be forced to provide it. Something doesn't come from nothing.

Based on what I've read about Manna it doesn't qualify as UBI, its just a marketing term to help the project gain exposure. I don't think it will gain traction, but I wish them luck.

Milton Friedman was a statist who believed in an authoritarian central government. In ways that matter to me, there isn't much of a difference between him, Republicans/Democrats & most politicians that call now themselves Libertarians.

I believe the majority of human interaction should be voluntary and free from force or threats of imprisonment from elected bureaucrats who are only accountable to special interests. Else we are all debt slaves and owned by the state.
