My first steemit meme!

in #meme7 years ago (edited)

Hey again, steemitizens!

I made my first steemit meme to summarize the last week, my first week, on steemit. I've been here about 9 days now, but it feels like years, in a good way! I have 350 followers, and I've made or am due to collect almost $800! And I've made new friends and I've enjoyed every single minute of it! I even decided to build a steemit.com related web app to add something badly needed to the steemit ecosystem as well. Spent 14 hours coding straight through without sleeping or eating much during that run! More about that (steemchallenge.com) in other posts on my blog. This post is only about sleeplessness and steemit, after all!

Now and then during the first week here, I did hit the wall for a couple of hours here and there as well and it looked something like this.

And with that, this post is over.

Full steem ahead, steemitizens!

I don't even have 9 hours here yet, but......"sleep is a crutch." Miles to go as the poem says.

BTW....not quite off grid, but getting there. Still need to get my power system going.

Welcome. And getting your off-grid power system going, is a life long job when off-grid ;)

I hear that. I'm in SoCal and as such have a lot of sun, but also in a place with a good bit of wind. So I'm working on a combo system. But with the advent of the new solar shingles, I'd like to let that get fleshed out as I need to redo the roof anyway.

Already on a well now, working on the rest. Like you said....life long job and this is my first foray into it.

I bought property with a continuously flowing mountain spring head on it and a creek below that. I ~should~ do a well, but 4 years of hauling water up a massive hill in buckets to the cabin and still haven't gotten around to an expensive well drilling project closer to the cabin. "Oh, Well" ;)

I'd love to have a spring/stream, but not gonna happen here. Desert living, lucky to have the well. It was already here, I just had to have maintenance done and a new pump put in.

I'd bet drilling would be expensive. How far is the spring? If it isn't too far, perhaps some form of an Archimedes Screw into a pipe system. As long as it is flowing it will power the screw and push water uphill.

It looks to me like what I need to build is a hydraulic ram pump and possibly some spring boxes down creek...

I started out owning 500 acres of Nevada USA desert, but never moved onto the property. I ended up choosing 17 acres in an east coast mountain range called the Blue Ridge in North Carolina instead for the much better natural resources available at this location.

@sircork - you've definetely been CRAZY active! That's great though - more power to you. Helluva lot better than time spent on Facebook.

I own a fully staffed dozen person software company that is 100% remote. I have a LOT of free time and I am basically retired and allegedly working full time at the same time. This is way better than hobbies that cost money. :) I even built steemchallenge this week in about 15 hours of work in there. Crazy busy and crazy sleepless - hence this meme :D

Awesome!
Following you :)

Really? Now I'm following YOU too! Isn't this just sooo groovy? :D

So good! And your meme is a beauty!! :D

Aw shucks, thanks! ;)

I can totally relate too xD

Everyone here can totally relate @vapourx ;)
